I would only drop them a spot or two. I think Cal and maybe BYU will move up but I don't think LSU should jump them.

USC actually haswhat is looking like a pretty tough schedule. Cal is annihilating people, and they get SC at home. Oregon is tough with or without Blount, Notre Dame is not a pushover, UCLA has shown it can play tough, and I think Oregon St. will be challenging. Heck, even Washington, who was 0-10 last year, nearly took down LSU.

 

Its a long, long road for a freshman QB and a virgin defense.

 

I could easily see Cal wining the pac-10 this year.

I texted several of my friends that Tressel should have let Pettry kick the FG right before they punted. You never know what may have happened, but I was confident he would have made the kick.

 

I felt the exact same way LRCW but I guess that is why he is coaching and we are here typing/2nd guessing on a message board.

 

Ohio State imo played very well, especially on defense and on both lines (which the line play I was most worried about going in). All I can do is give kudos to USC and the young freshman QB on that last drive. USC stepped up and made the plays/drive when they had to.

I really am too dissapointed to think of a whole lot to say after a loss like that one. I am not a believer at all in moral victories, the Buckeyes got beat. End of story.

I do feel that these two teams might very well meet again in January in the Rose Bowl, (not the NC game). Depends on how everything falls. I also would not doubt that Cal and Penn State will win the Pac10 and Big10. That is a long way off though.

Like I said, USC made the plays...the drive they had to make to win. Congrats to any bgp/USC fans out there.

Barkley is going to be a stud, point made. Good game for the Trojans, and boy was I sweating at the end sitting with 2 OSU fans next to me all night. Good thing the boys pulled it out at the end.

A QB sneek has everything to do with the O-Line and very little to do with a QB. If the line gets a push...its an easy first down, if they don't then it's still probably a first down because on a sneak all they need is half a yard usually.

I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a fumble or injury on a QB sneak. If you want to say it's impressive for the O-line then that's fine, but we were talking about the QB

I keep hearing how Ohio St.'s offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage. I don't see it. The Buckeyes had 88 yards rushing and averaged less than 3 yards per carry. A big chunk of that was 2 runs by Pryor, who was otherwise contained. Part of Pryor's 11 of 25 passing performance was pressure, and the Trojans had 3 sacks. The Buckeyes only had 10 first downs the whole game. Frankly, almost all of their yardage came on about 3 or 4 long passes. Couple that with the fact that the Buckeyes started at least 3 drives in Trojan territory, and this was a VERY impressive defensive performance by USC.
