All of you all do realize that the #8 team in the country lost on their home field to a team playing a true freshman. I mean going into the game their ranking was only 5 spots off, so if your at home you think that team should be able to win that game if both teams are top ten teams. So yeah I think its very easy to say that OSU is overrated, and honestly I think you can say that USC probably right now is overrated to. They are not your normal USC team this year. They are still a great team, however at this time I really don't think they are the third best team in the country. There really should be no rankings until like after the 4th week of the year.

And don't forget they squeaked by Navy last week. Something all of the OSU

homers on this board seemed to have forgotten. Really guys OSU is overrated year in and year out. Just like the Fighting Irish.

I am glad Lou Holtz looks crazy for picking Notre Dame to be in the BCS Championship Game. I can't stand how Notre Dame and Ohio State are always expected to be top teams when in reality they are both always overrated.

Agree with this post wholeheartly. Big Ten is not near as strong as league as SEC BIG 12 or PAC 10. What happened years age does not matter now.

This was your original post in the thread.

You were talking about tonight's game in Columbus. The Buckeyes did nothing tonight to prove they are overrated. You were wrong. It's ok, admit it. I know it's not the first time for you. I can't count the times I know you've been wrong. Just be man enough to admit, and eat your plate of crow. :D

There's nothing wrong with a little weekend crow

Yes. True freshman or not though they are still ranked #3 in the country. Did you know that other players are on the team too? They aren't all frshmen and even if they were I don't care your age if you're a ball player you're a ball player. Period. Just because they are playing at home doen't mean a thing. I know your a UK guy. Have they ever lost at home to a really good team when ranked highly in basketball? Same thing here.

Long story short when you lose to a team that is ranked 5 spots higher than you by 3 points in the 4th you did nothing wrong. You were exactly right in your post though, USC is 5 spots higher than OSU. Not 1 spot which IMO would validate your home field argument.

and if freshmen are that big of a deal I blame this loss solely on the fact that Duron Carter (Chris Carters) son started. I mean he'd never been in an atmosphere like that so what can you expect?

After watching the game today, perhaps Michigan is a little underrated.

I agree. I think ND is about right in the 18-25 range with some fire power trying to answer questions on D... Michigan is masterfully coached with some fire in the belly out to prove everyone wrong. Neither is bad team this season.

I honestly look for both to be in a decent bowl game this season. The Big Ten is a little weak outside of OSU and Penn State and ND has a good schedule.

Typical OSU fan trying to argue why they are not overrated ONCE AGAIN. :p

In all fairness though I also said I think USC right now is overrated to and are not the third best team in the country. I think that there are a few teams right now who if they played probably would beat USC.

That is one of the benefits of liking a big name program though because you do get ranked higher sometimes than what you should be. I know I am a Notre Dame fan and I also know that sometimes they are ranked higher than they actually should be. :thumb:

I think both USC and OSU are overrated!

:ohbrother:I still have to argue the overrated just cause I smiled doesn't mean I give.:irked:

They are both right.

Judging by ND's drop out of the top 25 and OSU's drop out of the top 10 it appears that the AP agrees that both are overrated...

I'll have to agree with futurecoach on this one. USC is good but not great, so at this time they are a little overrated. Notre Dame like UK in basketball tends to get rated because of their history. All Ohio State has to do is beat a good team and I'll give them some credit. Until then beating up on a mediocre big 10 proves nothing.
