I think Sheldon Clark pretty much has had its way with Johnson Central over the years. Granted, the JC program went to another level when Coach Matney took over. I don't know what his career record was against Central when he coached at Sheldon Clark....but he had some pretty good success. The fact is no team can be as good every year as JC has been the last few....it is still only 4 games into the season.

 

Jim Matney is an outstanding football coach. He is a scraper, a fighter, a brawler. I am shocked how at quickly some Central fans are jumping off the bandwagon!

 

Sounds like trouble in JC land. Great coach last year. Not so much this year. Just shows you that talent helps good coaches. And good coaches help good talent. Lets see now. Same coach. Maybe less talent:eek::idunno:

I bet coach Matney went on vacation to some tropical island this summer and he baked in the sun so long that he truly forgot everything he knows about football and that's why they are losing this year. :idunno: I say that the JC faithful get together and ban sunny vacations for JC coaches.

 

When you play the top teams in the state while your a little down you get beat. They aren't as bad as everyone seems to think and they will turn it around. Young o-lines need time to gel. They will get there.

Actually I do have an idea. I would have to venture that Matney is still not in the top 10 coaches paid(off the record) in the state of Kentucky. Now Eastern Kentucky...I would hope so!!!! Johnson Central will be fine and I'm sure they will be back close to the top very soon. I'm sure things will pan out for JC and hopefully Highlands will get a chance to host the Eagles come playoff time.

Sorry, If you make good money, and dont teach a class. You had better win football games. I know he is a good coach and meant no disrespect with my comment. But if Im making good money to do a job and that job starts to slack, the people paying me start asking questions quick. I think that is what is happening now. IMO, JC will be fine, they have just played a great and I say great schedule.

I mean, Nate Dillon is a great running back and he touched the ball 5 times friday night. Everyone i have talked to has saw the pattern.

Coach Matney has done a good job at JC and will continue to do so. I think they will win their district this year. He has set the standards high and has blown expectations up. Compare his record to all his predecessors.
