If Carroll County can keep this up, they'll win a Class A district title.

 

Seriously, I can see scheduling the local rivals like Gallatin and Trimble. I can even see Walton-Verona and maybe one more 1A team. But where are the likes of Henry County and North Oldham? What about a Grant County or Pendleton County? Why continue to schedule the tiniest schools in Kentucky? It can't get them properly prepared for teams like DeSales and CAL in their district.

Henry dropped Carroll...Used to play North Oldham...They dropped us also..So who else should we play? Danville,Frankfort, been there done that...Besides if I'm not mistaken Carroll is 1A in all other sports....Carroll scrimmages Grant and plays them in 7on7 all summer...Carrolls j.v. just soundly beat Pendleton Countys j.v. this past Saturday...Scrimmaged Bellevue.Carrolls volleyball team just won the: ALL A TOURNEY. So what does Carroll do ,go schedule Atherton like everyone else around here?:thumb:

I don't know what to tell you. But I do see Carroll County playing 7 Class A teams this season and 3 2A teams (all in district). I have a hard time believing there aren't a few 2A/3A/4A teams in northern Kentucky that wouldn't play Carroll County. It's not like Carroll County is a "rebuilding from the ground up" type of program. They've had some success over the years and have rarely been what I would call "bad."

 

I don't care who you play, but I don't think you're helping you program by scheduling all of your non-district games with 1A schools.

Ludlow seems to be in for a long season after their last two games...

You are making it sound like the shouldn't play a team like Ludlow. Even though until this year they hadn't beat Ludlow in the last 5 years. So I mean if they don't beat Ludlow usually, then why do you want them to drop them and play bigger schools?

Okay, change Walton to Ludlow in my original post as a school they should keep. Either way, I can't imagine it's the best practice for a 2A school to play all seven non-district games against 1A schools.

You might be right, but you have to build a program in stages. Carroll, in recent years, lost to those 1A schools.

I am pretty sure Trimble County, Owen County, Walton-Verona, Gallatin County and Carroll County make up the football division of the NCKC- I could be wrong but with the close proximity of the schools it makes sense for all of those teams to play each other. They all look to be competitve with each other and I'm sure the gate money does'nt hurt either......

I think Carroll County should get Trinity on the schedule! They are close proximity being in the ville and would provide some good learning to the panthers......lol

Here we go again! A team starts out well and we have people blaming it on the schedules again! Everyone should have seen this one coming. I believe we owe a "Congratulations" to Carroll County for starting out 3-0 for the first time in a long time. Let me be one of the first in the thread to say Congrats to the Carroll County Panthers.

 

As far as this little discussion goes, it doesnt matter who you play in your regular season, if you have a solid record, you have to be doing something right. Sounds to me as if some surrounding area teams are upset that Carroll County is back as contenders in the area. You have to give credit to Coach Weedman & Co. for starting to bring Carroll County back to high expectations.

 

For the future, I believe that everyone should start looking at the positives rather than the negatives for teams starting their seasons well and for teams playing well throughout the season. Trust me, it will make High School football that much more fun to watch and it gives some much needed praise to the players that read this forum everyday!! I have no problem with Carroll's schedule, but you can't really use the NCKC as the reason - Henry Co is in the NCKC, also. Why not play them?
