Good job by SK. A healthy MS is a big dose of trouble for anyone. Dixie will probably play in a lot of high scoring games this year.

Parker Deters played solid D for SK especially the first half. I'm pretty sure Jordan Hansel ate a kid or two tonight! Great game by him!

I think it was the other way around. Brooks started at SK and then flew to Beechwood. The SK/Dixie probably started at 7:00 and Beechwood/ Highlands started at 7:30. So Brooks probably saw most of the first half of SK and then flew to BW.

Dixie shot themselves in the foot. Their O was really good and SK struggled against it. However, SK did a nice job of stripping the ball and Dixie was careless.

 

Two good O's. Not sure about either's D.

I believe Brooks hit SK first, they started at 7pm and his chopper landed right at the start of the game. He only stayed for a brief amount of time, enough to see a Miles TD and then left. I thought it was a TV station flying over to drop the game ball.

 

Miles had some insane runs but he's still not 100%. SK's offense is coming along nicely, they have multiple guys who can step up and make plays. Dixie has a fine team, very impressed with their passing offense. They shot themselves in the foot a few too many times with turnovers but they didn't quit and put on quite a display to end the 2nd and open the 3rd quarter. I think they have a good chance win a few games come playoff time. I expected SK to win with a healthier MS but I didn't expect a 21 point victory.

Nice game for the Zumdick boys.

SK's secondary needs work, but I've read on here that Dixie tackles alot better and that's what will be the difference....looks as if SK's "O" was alot better. Hard to look at a common opponent in the first couple of weeks and figure out which way a game is going to go!

As many stated, the turnovers killed Dixie. Offensively, they moved the ball via the air very well. However, their run game was almost non-existent. Defensively, they still cannot tackle, and this seems to be a problem every year. Too many arm tackles, which you cannot do against the likes of a Simpson. I'd love to know how many yards after contact he had tonight. Dixie is going to have to light up the scoreboard this year in order to beat anybody, because their defense has issues.

 

SK looked good offensively. Simpson had a good game. It's scary to think what he would've done at 100% tonight. :eek: Lawrence is tough at QB. Defensively, they stuffed the run, but their pass defense was not that great. It could be an issue against the likes of Conner and Ryle.

 

Had Dixie not turned the ball over early, it's very likely that this game could've came down to who had the ball last. Neither defense could make the stop when they needed too. Congrats to SK on a very good game.

I like the fact that Dixie, offensively, spreads the field and tosses the ball around. Conner is SK's first district matchup, so this was a good test for SK's defense. Wilson from Dixie is a fine Qb, he moves well, and the bootleg passes are a great way to utilize his athleticism. He also throws a very nice ball, he had a wonderful toss to #32 for a TD.

Sounds like this is a post from 2008. I will be very interested to see the outcome of the Dixie/Conner game. I think it will indeed be a shootout.
