I like the fact that Dixie, offensively, spreads the field and tosses the ball around. Conner is SK's first district matchup, so this was a good test for SK's defense. Wilson from Dixie is a fine Qb, he moves well, and the bootleg passes are a great way to utilize his athleticism. He also throws a very nice ball, he had a wonderful toss to #32 for a TD.

 

I've been impressed with the new coaches from CCH. They're mixing up the plays very well, and keeping defenses off-balance. I think their offense could be even more potent if the lineman didn't have to go both ways.

Sounds like this is a post from 2008. I will be very interested to see the outcome of the Dixie/Conner game. I think it will indeed be a shootout.

 

IMO, their defense has been an issue since 2005. The year they beat Trinity was one of the best defenses I've seen at Dixie. They were very sound tacklers and their line got pressure. Since then, they have been very poor tacklers.

SK's secondary needs work, but I've read on here that Dixie tackles alot better and that's what will be the difference....looks as if SK's "O" was alot better. Hard to look at a common opponent in the first couple of weeks and figure out which way a game is going to go!

 

Dixie had about 2 or 3 players that tackled. The rest just sort of "reached."

I forgot to mention that SK wins the award for the worst god-awful pre-game music. Anyone above 18 was saying "make it stop." Man, it was bad. When I heard it I was hoping SK's sound system would go the way of Ryle's. Unfortunately, SK's sound system was pretty good.

Hard to leave the game last night not being very impressed with SK. Simpson running wild was not so surprising - it's not as if he hasn't done it many times before - but SK also has a nice passing game to complement their running game. I'm not sure they could live on the passing game, but it's certainly something defenses have to prepare for. Their QB looks to be much improved over last season.

The Lawrence kid is a winner...hard to believe, but he's only lost 1 game as a starter the last 4 years and that was to the small junior college known as Trinity in the title game last year!

Or over estimated Dixie. I've was big on Dixie all winter, spring and summer. But what I've seen so far of Dixie, in spite of Wilson being one of the best overall players in N. Ky and perhaps the state, there are rather big weaknesses on that team. SK is a very solid team and exposed those weaknesses. Hopefully the coaches can get them figured out and corrected. I'm betting they do. :thumb:

One question after last night. Why in the world would SK have Chad Lawerance on kick return?:confused: Are they asking for a wash of a season. One of the best QB's around this year and they have him on return? Marksbury better rethink that because it's not smart IMO. No matter how fast and athletic he is, especially after that head injury in the state game last year, should he be on return.
