Congrats to all at NL. Jags are looking for real.

I don't see SL doing much with them next week, either.

I did not see KC being 0-2 at this point when the season was starting.

In the updates thread it said that KC scored a TD and was called back. Does anyone know what happened?

Many were touting this KC bunch as the best in school history. Granted KC does not have a rich history in football. They seem to have alot of talent on the roster but have yet to get things lined out.

Caught the end of this game. Congrats to the jags! They are on a roll!

Two close losses to what appears to be pretty nice teams in Somerset and North Laurel. I wouldn't toss the towel in yet if I were Knox Central.

Illegal forward pass. QB was past the line of scrimmage when he threw the pass. It could've been called a another time in the final drive.

Congrats to Chris Larkey and NL.

I'm actually pretty excited about what I'm seeing from the young kids. Sure, they're making rookie mistakes, but they're showing tremendous promise also. The QB, Barger, improved a bunch since the first game and is becoming a real weapon as are the Canady boys. You can see how Coach Russell is tweaking the offense to get them more touches. I'll bet Mountain Thunder backs me up on this: this has the potential to be a fine KC team.

As for North, well, it's unreal what Coach Larkey has done with this bunch in only his first year. They've transformed into a real smash-mouth mountain football team that looks a whole bunch like some of the better Rockcastle teams. I'm going to predict that in a few years Chris will be mentioned with the same respect his dad gets now. :thumb:

That is good that KC fans are not jumping ship after starting 0 and 2. Not sure who they have the rest of the way but beating Rock and Bell might be big tasks for this young bunch. With the injuries, they should be able to defeat Wburg. So a win is on the horizen.

This was a huge win for the Jags. Another great game right down to the wire.

This KC bunch is tough. They have lost to 2 very good teams and they will bounce back strong. Barger is going to be a very good QB. Just a sophomore and shows a lot of grit.

For NL, this win should feel as good as last week's win, if not better. KC is a much more physical team than PC was, and the Jags responded with big plays when they needed them the most on both sides of the ball.

Sets up a very interesting game between NL and SL next week.

Larkey told me tonight that it wasn't like he took over a bad team like many think. He believes that the Jags were just very young last year, with a lot of new starters as sophomores and they just had to mature. They are certainly doing that on his watch. I am impressed at their conditioning the past 2 weeks. They are in midseason shape to start the season and that has helped them tremendously pull off 2 very close games in the final minutes. He and his entire staff have this team believing that they can win and that is good to see.

:thumb: Absolutely. This is still a young KC team with a ton of potential. They will just get better given more time. These Panthers lost some talent from last year and they have some young kids starting to step up and make big plays. I really like Barger and think he will be a dandy. He still has all of this season and 2 more years. The Canady boys are really turning into playmakers as well.

Coach Mills is a great coach and I think KC played better this week than last week. So I expect them to improve all season long. Panther fans need to stay positive, because it looks like they may have started 0-2, but they played 2 teams that are turning out to be pretty good. I was videoing the game near the KC coaches up top. Class acts all the way. They are doing things the right way at KC and it will just get better and better. I remember what KC football used to be before Coach Mills, and this is a far cry from that. They will be fine.

No one needs to junp ship from the KC team, they are young and Huge. Coach Mills has a great staff and they will win their games and compete in all of them. One of the biggest teams I've seen in high school, in the mountains.
