Western Hills may have some serious issues in this one. Woodford County possesses great speed, and a decent arial attack. The Yellowjackets running game isn't going to scare anyone, but their skill players' speed, and their defensive line speed are impressive. The WC OL will be under fire and will have to step up to keep Curry clean...

Woodford in a close one.

Woodford struggled last week against South Oldham (winless in 2008), and was down 12-10 in 4th quarter. Woodford blocked 2 punts (one for a TD), recovered a fumble, and had the ball in the red zone 5 times; but only scored 27 points. Suprised predicting 35-41 points for Woodford. Woodford did bring a great deal of pressure on every play and WH will have to find a way to block, but Curry's size and ability to get outside helps WH. Woodford has the advantage of having a game under its belt, but also allows WH actual game footage. Could be a low scoring game if defenses can pressure both QBs. Hills 21-17.

This should be a great game and looks to me like a toss-up given the talent levels on both teams plus being played on a neutral field. The game will be played at Lexington Catholic as the first varsity game of the 15th annual Bluegrass Bowl. There are 4 middle school games scheduled earlier during the day starting at 9:00am representing schools from around the Commonwealth. Participating in these middle school games will be Southern Pulaski, the Lone Oak Purple Flash, Graves County, Bowling Green JH, Lexington Christian Academy and Lexington Catholic. Starting at 5:30, the varsity takes over with Woodford County taking on Western Hills. At 8:35, Lexington Catholic and Covington Catholic square off in what should be a very entertaining game. The last two games between these teams were shoot-outs with the winner eventually capturing the 3A State Championship (Lexington Catholic in 2005 and Covington Catholic in 2006). This Saturday will be a great day for football.
