August 20, 200917 yr Trade Advice My Team: QB- Drew Brees, Trent Edwards, Jason Campbell WR- Calvin Johnson, DeSean Jackson, Roy Williams, Darrius Hayward-Bay, Mushin Muhammad RB- Michael Turner, DeAngelo Williams, LenDale White, Felix Jones, Rashard Mendenhall, LeSean McCoy TE- Chris Cooley, Heath Miller I was offered this. I give him Trent Edwards and Michael Turner I get Kyle Orton, TJ Houshmandzadeh, and Stephen Jackson Pretty even IMO, I need help at WR, and he needs a QB bad. I am seriously considering this, what does everyone think?

I am seriously considering this, what does everyone think? Don't do it. TJ won't help you THAT MUCH more than DeSean Jackson. I have Steven Jackson and I'm worried sick that he'll get hurt within the first 4 weeks of the season. Michael Turner's a hoss and will consistently get you 20+ carries week in and week out, regardless of his performance, and will stay healthy. You don't have any need for Orton forget that.

Only reason I am considering it is because I am worried about the production of Roy Williams in Dallas.
August 20, 200917 yr Author So basically you are trading Michael Turner for TJ and Jackson. While I don't think TJ will have as good of a year, Jackson is still one of the best fantasy players per game (too bad he misses them). It's worth considering, but it's also worth considering that A) I'm trigger happy when it comes to FF trades and B) everyone else is saying no.

In the fragile world of the NFL that is a TON, I would be fairly worried about a breakdown for Turner as well.
August 20, 200917 yr Saint, I wouldn't take that trade, I think you can get a better package for Turner. He is consistently viewed as the #2 or #3 player. Befor a game is played build on that perception. I also have some unsolicited advice. If you aren't playing in a 2QB league, I see no reason to have three QB's, I'd shed one for something else more useful.
August 20, 200917 yr I'm not sure he "needs" Jones or Bowe. White, Jackson and Welker are a pretty solid trio, IMO. I'd consider packaging Jones and Jackson or Welker to see if I could get an elite WR...or maybe Stewart and Jackson or Welker. I think it would be worth a shot. To be honest, I think it would be worth it to package any of your running backs, excluding LT, with any of your WR's not named Roddy White if you could get an elite WR or RB out of the deal. I'd try that. That's why I had them in quotations. I personally, am not for sure if he needs them, but he seems to think so...and if there is a need on the team I would go for that (considering all I've seen is his WR's and RB's. I agree with both of your latter paragraphs, and it is the advice I would follow if I was cch, go big or go home!

Unfortunately, my league seems to hate trades, and everyone becomes attached to their players.

Same here. Especially pre-season because everyone thinks their team is the greatest....until the season starts and we know who has the best team.

The Falcons schedule was as favorable as it gets last season for a running back...he won't match 1700 yards and 17 TD's in '09. Atlanta's non-division schedule in 2008 was the AFC West and NFC North, plus Philadelphia and St. Louis. This year, he gets the AFC and NFC East, plus San Francisco and Chicago.
August 22, 200917 yr 11 teams, 1 qb, 2 rb, 2wr, 1flex, te, D,K QB's: Rodgers, Romo RB's: M Forte, C Johnson, Clinton Portis, Ronnie Brown, WR's: Brylan Edwards, Desean Jackson, Lee Evans, L Coles, Josh Morgan, Robert Meachem TE: Tony scheffler D: Baltimore K:Nate Keading
August 22, 200917 yr Saint4, I wouldn't pull the trade on that deal. Your Wrs are very questionable but I don't care who Turner's playing, he will have another huge year.
