Heard on the radio (no not Rush, Hannity or Cunningham) that the guy in the picture and on the MSNBC video is for the proposed reform. I'll see what I can dig up on it.

Question: Do you obtain a permit THEN get a gun? Or get a gun THEN get the permit? And, do you even need a permit if you don't seek a concealed carry permit? If you don't have a concealed carry permit, can you have your gun on you as long as it's clearly visible?

You can but you need a gun when trying to get the permit. There is some shooting that is involved with the class. You can buy a gun without a conceal permit, you obviously just can't conceal it. You do not need a permit to carry a gun as long as it is in plain sight, like in a holster on your hip.

Again, too many assumptions about the guy has been made.

 

1. How "minor" of a "bump" was it? Could RM actually taken him by surprise than she actually thought?

 

2. Could RM's account be a little skewed? No, RM, I'm not calling you a liar. Is it possible that he didn't actually pull the gun half way, in the excitement she perceived it to be?

 

3. Has the guy been a victim before of a mugging or similar? From his perception, is it possible that going by something recently and being taken by surprise in this situation he, for a split second, felt his life could have been threatened?

 

We all have to remember there are always two accounts to EVERY story, two separate perceptions and two different sides. That's all I'm really saying here.

I guess I'm remiss in not engaging him in a philosophical discussion of his intentions so that I could properly enlighten you. I was concerned for my own safety at that point and did what I thought was the right thing...diffuse any altercation by leaving. Afterall, it's not like I wanted his little space on the sidewalk. If it happens again, I'll make sure to wait around and ask. That's the smart thing for a person who chooses to live unarmed to do.

I still wonder what this guy was looking to do? What if RM had put her hand on a gun and began to pull it out in self-defense? How would this guy have perceived that?
