Would You Let Your Son Play for Rick Pitino?

Featured Replies

You don't want your son to grow up and be cool?:D

I think the assumption that YOU have grown up might be debatable.:D:D:bunny::jump::lol::lol::cool:

My daughter will be 17 when she graduates HS and would be ineligible to sign a binding contract, correct?

I would say others fall in the same category.

I'm sure there are a few players coming out of high school that are only 17 years old. I know I was 17 when I graduated, but most of the people in the class behind me were older than me. I would think that most of your high school basketball players coming out are at least 18 though, some even 19.

Jim is more like me I think. We have grown out a lot more than we have grown up.

Having met Mr. Shue, I can say I resemble that remark.:D

I have not had time to read this yet, but wanted to answer with a big

Look's like Rick should have taken his own advice a few years back. :D

No, he is not a good person, IMO, and I would strongly dis-courage him from doing so.

I would not!! Not even before this incident. Character counts and he has never had any.

I would encourage my son to go to UK where he has a chance to win it all :) jk

That is one I can't figure out. That makes no sense to me.
As lbbc mentioned, most kids are not 18 when the LOI is signed.

I'd let him play for Rick in a heart beat. It's my job to teach my kid morals. Rick's there to coach basketball. If my kid's morals are not entrenched by 18, then I didn't do my job right.

I would let mine play for him. I wouldn't let him dine with him.

Or dine with my wife, daughter, sister or any other female in the family.

If I had a son with that kind of talent then imo that would mean that other schools would probably want him as well. I would strongly discourage him from playing for Pitino and to accept another scholly offer but if he was bent and convinced to play for Pitino then I probably would let him.

I would also hope that the game of basketball would be all that he learned from the little slime ball and certainly not look to Pitino as a role model .
