rockmom Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Eric Crawford weighs in. I wouldn't send a son to Pitino for Sunday School class. And if we tell our kids to emulate any sports figures today, we do so at our own risk. But I have known Pitino as a real person. I have watched him professionally from close range. And if the question is, would I send a son to play for him? My answer is yes, I would.
spindoc Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I would let mine play for him. I wouldn't let him dine with him.
Jim Schue Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I would let mine play for him. I wouldn't let him dine with him. Well, since they have a thing called a "pre-game meal," I guess that means you wouldn't let your son play for him?
rockmom Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 Well, since they have a thing called a "pre-game meal," I guess that means you wouldn't let your son play for him? Just no post game dessert!
UKMustangFan Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Well, assuming the kids are 18, do the parents really have a choice?
gametime Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Well, assuming the kids are 18, do the parents really have a choice? Yes. The parents have to sign the LOI...
MountainThunder Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I would let my son play for him. I wouldn't let my daughter or wife near him, ... but that is a different story.
LRCW Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Yes. The parents have to sign the LOI... That is one I can't figure out. That makes no sense to me.
gold sunrise Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Many know I am a UofL supporter and UK...I know that is weird for some to grasp.... I told Preston Knowles when he was selecting a school, was to pick the right coach for him. I really feel he did. I am sure that Rick and the team wil get blasted on the road games. I do hope that fans wlll show some respect and realize how immature these actions are.
ladiesbballcoach Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 That is one I can't figure out. That makes no sense to me. My daughter will be 17 when she graduates HS and would be ineligible to sign a binding contract, correct? I would say others fall in the same category.
spindoc Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Well, since they have a thing called a "pre-game meal," I guess that means you wouldn't let your son play for him? Of course I was only joking. No, I would be tickled to let him play for Pitino. I would think twice about allowing him to hang around you when shopping for music.
ladiesbballcoach Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 If it is about playing basketball and getting to the next level, great coach. If it is about setting a nice role model as a human being for the next 4 years of my son's life, then he is a poor, poor choice for me to want Pitino to influence my son in a very formative stage as a young man.
rockmom Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 Taquan Dean's facebook status today: everyone makes mistakes. I stand behind coach p thru whatever. Like he always told me tell a lie it becomes your future, tell the truth it becomes your past.
Jim Schue Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Of course I was only joking. No, I would be tickled to let him play for Pitino. I would think twice about allowing him to hang around you when shopping for music. You don't want your son to grow up and be cool?
