Josh Hamilton admits to relapse with alcohol

So all you hardcore Christians agree these actions are equally sinful?

If you believe that the Bible is the devine word of God (and I do), then yes they are equal. Look it up, I promise you it's in there.

Yeah, I don't believe that, so I guess that means I'm allowed to place weight on different sins....:idunno:

You have free will, you're allowed to do or think however you wish, see Josh Hamilton. He brought reproach on the name of Jesus with his actions, which if he's truly a believer, he's already lamenting and hopefully already has sought repentence and forgiveness from his heavenly Father. He doesn't need it from us.

God says He is holy, and commands us to be holy. However, if we sin, we have an advocate with the Father in his son Jesus, who sits at his right hand and makes intercession for us.

I have a question for you UKMustang. Out of curiousity, are you well read when it comes to the Bible? Just a question, not any condemnation aimed at all.

^Have I read the entire bible? No, and have zero desire to do so.

Do I have a good understanding of it? I'd like to think so, I went through 12 years of Catholic schooling....

I don't really see how religious beliefs matter here. He is a scumbag bottom line and if he wasn't a baseball player everyone else would think so as well. Glad the truth has came out since we spoke out about him before. He is a fraud regardless of you religion and if that makes me a less person in your eyes then so be it.

That is actually a funny statement considering you have Kobe Bryant as your avatar and he was in a big scandal involving another woman while his wife was at home. Does that make him a scumbag?

Does he go around proclaiming the word of god and how much he is a changed man in every interview he does? Kobe acknowledge his mistake and moved on from it and has really done a nice job repairing his image. Haven't seen any pictures of him with a shot glass in the zipper of his pants and sucking whip cream out of some cleavage of ladies that aren't his wife. So I don't see how it is ironic at all actually. If he continued to do so (Like Hamilton) then yes he would be in the same category. Not to mention other stories about Hamilton that I heard long before any of this.

You said yourself that religious beliefs don't matter on this...it was his actions and that bottomline he was a scumbag and if he wasn't a baseball player noone would defend him.

Would you be so quick to defend Kobe and his actions if he wasn't a Basketball player?

I would careless if he was a basketball player because I would never know him? :idunno: Kobe doesn't shove God down my throat in every interview or claim to be made over by God. It's not even close to the same.

These pictures were taken in January, right? Why didn't Hamilton go public with his relapse until he was busted???

You keep talking about religion, but you said that it was his actions that made him a scumbag. I don't understand how you can say it is okay for Kobe to cheat on his wife as long as he apologizes but that if Hamilton takes body shots off a woman that he is a scumbag.

Hamilton claims to be this born-again Christian, who has found Jesus, and I have to give it to him, his plan has worked perfectly. He's gotten many of the robots to follow him with hero-like worship solely on the mention of the words "God", and "Jesus". He's playing the media and people because he knows how easily religious views can manipulate a person's outlook on a particular person/thing. He wanted to get himself back in the spotlight and he most certainly has with this whole charade.

Yes. Your sins are no greater than equal to mine according to the Bible. It doesn't matter what I think. Or for that matter what you think. It matters what God thinks and from a Biblical standpoint, he seems to say that they are equal except for the unforgivable sin.

Because that would put his entire charade in jeopardy of being exposed....I'm sure he kept thinking as long as I say the words "Jesus" and "God" in front of every camera I come in contact with, everyone will love me and not care that it's all been an act.

Too inconvenient, apparently.
