August 11, 200917 yr Yes. Your sins are no greater than equal to mine according to the Bible. It doesn't matter what I think. Or for that matter what you think. It matters what God thinks and from a Biblical standpoint, he seems to say that they are equal except for the unforgivable sin. I don't believe for one second God thinks that way, so it does matter what I think.
August 11, 200917 yr Hamilton claims to be this born-again Christian, who has found Jesus, and I have to give it to him, his plan has worked perfectly. He's gotten many of the robots to follow him with hero-like worship solely on the mention of the words "God", and "Jesus". He's playing the media and people because he knows how easily religious views can manipulate a person's outlook on a particular person/thing. He wanted to get himself back in the spotlight and he most certainly has with this whole charade. Who is following him anywhere? We aren't following him just appreciate of him taking advantage of his position to witness about the Lord. Presently, he has severely hurt his ability to do that in a good portion of society. For another portion, he has possibily even helped himself. For those unbelievers in similar situation as he has put himself once again, they could look at him and say, wow, If God could really love Josh Hamilton and Jesus' sacrifice could really forgive Josh's sins, maybe it could really forgive mine and God really does still love me.
August 11, 200917 yr I don't believe for one second God thinks that way, so it does matter what I think. Please support your view with Scripture or are you just making it up as what you think God thinks.
August 11, 200917 yr You keep talking about religion, but you said that it was his actions that made him a scumbag. I don't understand how you can say it is okay for Kobe to cheat on his wife as long as he apologizes but that if Hamilton takes body shots off a woman that he is a scumbag. I never once said either is OK. Kobe said he was sorry and has shown he was serious about that. Hamilton not so much I don't see why you can't get that?
August 11, 200917 yr Please support your view with Scripture or are you just making it up as what you think God thinks. Why would I support my view with scripture? I don't take the bible literally. I love have everything has to be supported by scripture to be true....
August 11, 200917 yr So if I kill someone or steal a candy bar its all the same. Makes sense. That's why you don't take the Bible literally but that's for another thread.
August 11, 200917 yr I never once said either is OK. Kobe said he was sorry and has shown he was serious about that. Hamilton not so much I don't see why you can't get that? Please give reasons that show this. Is it simply because nothing else has popped up in the news?
August 11, 200917 yr Please give reasons that show this. Is it simply because nothing else has popped up in the news? You don't see pictures of him surface up at a club with a shot glass in his pants do you?
August 11, 200917 yr I never once said either is OK. Kobe said he was sorry and has shown he was serious about that. Hamilton not so much I don't see why you can't get that? Neither is okay but you will support one because he was sorry and you'll bad mouth another because he didn't say he was sorry....I got it now.
August 11, 200917 yr So if I kill someone or steal a candy bar its all the same. According to Scripture, it very well might be. Again, this is not LBBC's view but rather what Scripture indicates. And that is really the only thing we have to go on with what God wants. Anything else and it becomes our personal view. If it was left up to me, I would agree with you because it seems that is the way it should be. But it ain't left up to me and Scripture seems to indicate that sins are the same and they are equally unforgiveable. But honestly, it is irrelevant to the argument. If I am shot one time and die or 140 times and die, does it matter? I am dead either way. And one sin that we have not asked for God to forgive us through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ separates us from God. So, does it really matter if that sin is less than something else because it STILL separates us out from the presence of God.
August 11, 200917 yr You don't see pictures of him surface up at a club with a shot glass in his pants do you? Possibly, not yet. And I didn't see and haven't looked at them now because I have no desire to see them but will take your guys word on it, them of Josh Hamilton before this week either. And you guys still have this opinion of Hamilton before seeing any.
August 11, 200917 yr Neither is okay but you will support one because he was sorry and you'll bad mouth another because he didn't....I got it now. Are you serious? HE KEEPS DOING IT. He is playing you all like puppets he is just a fraud. Kobe doesn't slam God down my face every second and he isn't making the same mistakes again. He made a mistake a moved on. Hamilton makes multiple mistakes and got a pass then got "clean" and everyone bought into his act while he claimed to be this remade person under God.
August 11, 200917 yr Possibly, not yet. And I didn't see and haven't looked at them now because I have no desire to see them but will take your guys word on it, them of Josh Hamilton before this week either. And you guys still have this opinion of Hamilton before seeing any. Trust me if there was some of Kobe they would be out. He is 100000 times bigger than Hamilton and I will be the first in line to bash him for him. There is a big difference in the 2.

August 11, 200917 yr I know that in the past I have been guilty of bashing different individuals for some things myself, but I believe some of the comments made on here seemingly are bc Hamilton is a Christian. Before someone says hypocrit/fraud or he is not I would ask how do you know? There must be alot of picture perfect individuals on bgp that have never made a mistake or God forbid made the same mistake more than once. Seems to me that there is something about "glass houses" here :sssh: or "let he who has never sinned throw the first stone". I am a Christian and I will readily tell anyone I have certainly made and continue to make mistakes, some more than once. That does not make it right but it does not condem me either. I am glad that I am not or will not be judged by any human that is curently on this earth, at least not where it really matters and that is for eternity and when you get right down to it any other judgement really doesn't matter. Should Hamilton not be a true Christian like he as stated he is or should he be a fraud then he will be judged as such and again, not by anyone on a message board. I personally admire Josh Hamilton for fighting this battle of alchoholism and addiction and especially for leaning on God to help him. As I said, I have jumped on other athletes over different matters (like steroids, etc.) as well, that probably is not right either but I don't think and certainly hope I have never blasted someone for saying they are a Christian and doing something wrong. No where does it say that Christians are pefect or without sin......no where. There has been only one man without sin, that man is Jesus Christ and they crucified him for it. I am not singling out any one person with this post and certainly a not claiming "holier than thou". I was just speakng my mind and opinion on the matter and maybe giving something to think about.
