August 4, 200917 yr Oh you can always get a lemon with any brand. Honda knows transmissions, unfortunately you got a poor quality one. I hope it worked out for you in the long run. They had a major recall on the automatic transmissions and were slapped with a civil lawsuit. I will have to say, Honda is a decent brand but they are not know for their automatic transmissions. Most owner wills admit they are crap. I do like the vtech engine. August 4, 200917 yr We have a Honda Odyssey and love it. We also have a Chrysler Concorde LXi...love it not so much. Chrysler makes some really good looking cars, but their quality remains poor. I love the bells and whistles my Concorde has, and despite having less than 50,000 miles on it, it has started falling apart. The door handles have broken on both side, the drivers side door panel simply dislodged itself and came loose, had to replace the door panel. We've only had the car for two years and I've put $1,000 into it. Next time it breaks down it's gone. I have some friends that both own Hyundai Sonota's and don't shut-up about how great they are. Last summer when the Concorde was in the shop one of them loaned us their Sonota while they were on vacation. It was very nice. Next car we buy will be either a Toyota, Honda, or a Hyundai.
August 4, 200917 yr I wonder why they were all in the Acura division? That is a terrible history. It affected Honda and Acura. I just owned an Acura at the time and was pulling their data.
August 4, 200917 yr My 95 Chevy Camaro has 144,000 on it. My 00 Olds van has 250,000 miles on it. My 01 Chevy Impala has 182,000 on it. My 04 Chevy Tahoe has 98,000 on it. My 08 Chevy HHR has 21,000 on it. My 92 Ford F150 had 218,000 on it when I sold it. My 91 Ford Bronco had 197,000 on it when I sold it. The list goes on and on of Fords and GMs I have owned. In the 80's and early 90's I owned mostly Fords because I liked their look better. In the late 90's I like the look of GMs better. Some I bought new, some I bought used. All were taken care of and all lasted a long time.

August 5, 200917 yr I'm really sorry you're having this problem with your new vehicle. I would love to keep all of the U S car makers in business; however I have to look at the quality of what they offer and are selling. We've owned quite a few American made cars over the years. I can also tell a huge difference in taking my Honda to be serviced and how we are treated, and then taking our American made truck to the dealer. Big, big difference in customer service.
August 5, 200917 yr I drive a Lexus IS300 and I love it, no problems. I'll never own another American rig unless its a full size truck, only cause I can't afford a Tundra and the Titans frames are junk, and don't get me started on the Ridgeline :lol:
August 6, 200917 yr Author Thankfully I am on vacation this week, or I'd be driving the 82 p/u everyday, and that ain't an everyday vehicle.
