Boy does my yard look good !

I know that corn and tobacco (and my yard) all look really good around central Kentucky. I've seen better tobacco in Garrard County this summer than I've seen in ten years.

Maybe true, but a lot of it got out real late this year because of spring rains.

I still think it looks really good for August, comparitively speaking.

I'm sure the farmers appreciate not having to irrigate yet but I am tired of all the rain. I might have to go to a tanning bed just to get a sun fix.

I love the rain, and our grass does look great. I don't think NKY is over the rainfall expected year to date. It's cooler than normal for July, but I'm not complaining. Family went to Kings Island today. Of course it rained and they came home early. The rain beats the drought we've experienced the past couple of summer's.

I said that I would never complain about the weather again, if God would just get things back to normal after the ice storm.

Judging by the over-abundance of clover in my front yard, it has been very rainy and cool.

Still mowing the lawn! :thumb:

My husband made that comment just the other night. I think this is the first year our lawn has not gone dormant the entire summer.

I agree. It has been cool too. I like hot weather.

So much for global warming....

So much for global warming....

Tell that to Seattle! Temps above 100 for a city in which about 15% have air conditioning. I think that they are having our weather and we are having theirs!

I’m sure it has something to do with the melting of the icecaps, acid rain, global warming, and ozone depletion. Maybe El Nino and global warming are now causing colder winters and more rain??? :idunno: Someone needs to call Al Gore.

"Global" means looking beyond just our little niche in KY.

It does seem like it's rained just about every weekend this summer so I was surprised to see that NKY is just a little ahead of normal at the end of July. Past 2 summers have been drought situations by the end of July so I guess I can't complain too much.
