July 28, 200917 yr Who is your favorite (specific) team of all time? 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers Favorite Player of all-time? Tommie Frazier Favorite/Best Coach? Tom Osborne Least favorite program? Oklahoma (dirty program and rival) Least favorite player? No one really stands out Best (specific) team of all-time? 1995 Nebraska Favorite player that played for your favorite teams rival? Adrian Peterson Best moment/game that involved your team(s) 1971 NU vs OU game of the century/Johnny the Jet Rodgers punt return TD. Most heartbreaking defeat for your team in your opinion? 1984 Orange Bowl
July 28, 200917 yr Why hate on the Canes? We have a healthy respect for the FSU program. I like for them to win anytime they aren't playing the U or FSU. I remember one of the only FSU fans I know personally, who went to school there, tried to explain to me that as an FSU fan you hate Florida, but Miami you have a healthy respect for. I told him that no, I despised the Miami Hurricanes. The first Florida State game I ever watched was Wide Right I. I've had several more of those frustrations since. I hate the way the 'Canes carry themselves (though to be fair, FSU is often no better, but you know how it is, you look past it when it's your school), and they have guys I loved to hate like Shockey, Winslow, Sean Taylor (RIP), etc. I don't hate them as much as Florida, but I am not fond of them at all.

I have heard FSU fans say something to that measure. I think it's a class type of thing where UF people tend to look down on FSU and Miami folks so the Noles and Hurricanes are sometimes allies. I'm like you, I hate Miami and Florida. I probably hate Miami more so than Florida because I run into way more Miami fans who are usually talk way more trash.(see Cats3X post at 9:22pm) I will say this...being at Doak Campbell stadium when they are doing the Tomahawk Chop is one of those things that every college football fan must see and take part in at least once in their life. Quite possibly the greatest thing I have seen at a live sporting event and the moment when I became an FSU fan for life.
July 28, 200917 yr Who is your favorite (specific) team of all time? 2006 Louisville Cardinals, now while I was always a Notre Dame Fan, Brian Brohm and my season ticket purchasing has brought Louisville to the forefront. Favorite Player of all-time?Brian Brohm Favorite/Best Coach?Lou Holtz Least favorite program? This one is a weird one, because when they were dominate, I loved to hate...but when they faltered, I now root for them to get back to the top, so I can hate again. UK is right there as well. Least favorite player?Reggie Bush, he was amazing and a pleasure to watch....but I hated it, because I can stand USC. Best (specific) team of all-time?Nebraska 1995....you knew what they were going to do every single play, and they still averaged over 50 ppg, and ravaged Florida in the Orange Bowl Favorite player that played for your favorite teams rival?Brian Brohm Best moment/game that involved your team(s)I have two, both from the same year...2006, when Louisville beat the 'Canes, and also when they WVU Most heartbreaking defeat for your team in your opinion? Rutgers in '06, and Rutgers in '08, the latter mainly because it had bowl implications, and U of L being so decimated by injury failed to respond to the challenge.
July 28, 200917 yr Best (specific) team of all-time?-Probably the 1993 FSU Seminoles I really think that you can't list a team with a loss as the best ever!
July 28, 200917 yr I was going to complain that this is football board until you listed the 01 Canes as the greatest team of all-time. I know... I realized that after I posted it. :ohbrother:
July 28, 200917 yr Author I really think that you can't list a team with a loss as the best ever! He couldn't bring himself to say the '01 Canes. I think they are 14 points better than any other team in history, including '95 Nebraska. That's how I look at it. Many FSU fans I know are pretty cool, and I actually kind of like the 'Noles. I can accept a loss to the 'Noles, but not to the Gators. I have heard FSU fans say something to that measure. I think it's a class type of thing where UF people tend to look down on FSU and Miami folks so the Noles and Hurricanes are sometimes allies. I don't think there is anything worse than hearing a Gator fan talk about his team during the fall. Wait until the Noles play UF this year, I'm sure Big Spikes will have plenty of smack for FSU fans on here. I will say that the Miami fan base has gotten worse, but it's because the Canes have fallen from the top over the last few years, IMO.
July 28, 200917 yr Who is your favorite (specific) team of all time? 2008 Florida Gators Favorite Player of all-time? Three way tie between Adrian Peterson, Brandon Spikes and Dennis Dixon. Favorite/Best Coach? Urban Meyer Least favorite program? UK Least favorite player? Any UK football player and Chris Wienke Best (specific) team of all-time? 2001 Miami or 1995 Nebraska Favorite player that played for your favorite teams rival? Sean Taylor Best moment/game that involved your team(s) 2006 BCS National Title Game and 2008 SEC Title Game. Most heartbreaking defeat for your team in your opinion? 2007 UF vs. LSU. July 28, 200917 yr I think it's a class type of thing where UF people tend to look down on FSU and Miami folks so the Noles and Hurricanes are sometimes allies.I know the feeling, only I get it from all three. Not so much the Miami fans as the FSU and Florida bunch. I will say this...being at Doak Campbell stadium when they are doing the Tomahawk Chop is one of those things that every college football fan must see and take part in at least once in their life. Quite possibly the greatest thing I have seen at a live sporting event and the moment when I became an FSU fan for life.I get my first chance in less than 60 days. I'm like you, I hate Miami and Florida. I probably hate Miami more so than Florida because I run into way more Miami fans who are usually talk way more trash.(see Cats3X post at 9:22pm)I know a few Miami fans and a few FSU fans, but Gators are everywhere. Everywhere, I tell you. I'm surrounded by Gators. I work with Gators. My son married one. You can't get away from them. Everywhere I look, Gator, Gator, Gator. Chomp, Chomp, Chomp. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

If Meyer leaves UF any time in the near future, you won't have to worry about it anymore. Plenty of people would jump off that bandwagon.
July 28, 200917 yr If Meyer leaves UF any time in the near future, you won't have to worry about it anymore. Plenty of people would jump off that bandwagon. Not this Gator fan though.
July 28, 200917 yr He couldn't bring himself to say the '01 Canes. I think they are 14 points better than any other team in history, including '95 Nebraska. They weren't even 14 points better than every team they played THAT YEAR. They only beat Va. Tech by 2 and Boston College by 11, and truly, they were lucky to escape that Boston College game. Nothing like a fortuitous bounce that leads to an INT TD with under a minute left and BC on the Miami 9. Nebraska won one game by less than 23 points in 1995, and that was a two TD victory versus Washington State.
