July 12, 200917 yr I remember watching him live at NCAA's his last two years and thinking what a beast he was then. Now he is unworldly. I still have a couple of his matches on tape. He was very impressive.
July 12, 200917 yr You think Lesnar hasnt talked crap? Lesnar called Mirs belt a "make believe" belt. How long have you been watching MMA? Most fighters talk crap to each other before the fight...but most end up being respectful after. I know a lot of them are usually respectful but it is a fight after all and some take that stuff said before personal. Lesnar obviously did and I doubt their is any respect between the two so why fake it? Randy didnt really talk a lot of trash to him and he was pretty respectful to him after their fight.
July 12, 200917 yr I think Carwin could beat Lesnar if he could keep it standing, Carwins hands are like bricks. I think he is the only one with a shot at actually beating Lesnar. I dont know who I'd pull for in that fight they are my favorite heavyweights.

He’ll fight Aug. 1 in Anaheim, Calif., in what is the last match of his contract. Affliction is hoping to re-sign him until 2012, but the UFC will come hard after him. More now then ever. And that means money, big money. “Eventually Fedor is going to be here,” White said. “I want Fedor. The same can kind of be said about Wanderlei, Shogun, and even Rampage to an extent after coming over from Pride. All three great fighters who at times dominated Pride, and were expected to do the same in the UFC, only to lose a couple fights. Heck you can even throw Hendo in there. So there is a lot of guys who are great fighters and who were considered the best who came to quickly find how good all the guys in the UFC are. Simply put it is a great organization. Would Fedor dominate Brock? I doubt dominate, but whether he would win or not is something I would love and cannot wait to see. Hope it happens.
July 12, 200917 yr Author As for the Henderson/Bisping fight. I always hated Bisping until recently. I grew the most hatrid after I feel he picked up a win over Mat Hamil in a blatant robbery over on one of the UK cards. I felt they only gave the fight to Bisping because he was the hometown, home country kid, and that cost Matt Hamil what could have been a start to something pretty special, for a very special guy. However, over time I started to gain more respect and lie for Bisping as he started to get a lot better, and started winning more fights. He's sparked some guys over in England to get on the same path. BUT, with all the trashing through the Ultimate Fighter until now, I am so glad Henderson matted him. I love it. Id much rather take that win over both UK wins in TUF.

July 12, 200917 yr This was a pretty good UFC... It's hard to see Lesnar losing to any current UFC Heavyweights unless he makes another mistake like he did against Mir. I don't know who is next for him, but considering that he and Mir have split and their is a lot of animosity there, I don't think a rubber match would be a bad idea. The drawback is that Lesnar has dominated all of both fights with the exception of the few seconds that Mir locked in the submission. He's just too big, strong and athletic...combined with his wrestling background and he's a nightmare. I thought he had a great strategy against Mir. Get him down, suffocate him with his size by laying chest to chest and then hammer away. The way he got his arm behind Mir's head and created just enough space to land some big shots was smart. It's amazing how much power he can generate with hardly any drawback on the punches. I'd like to see he and Fedor go at it. As for GSP, what can you say? He dominated the guy who is probably the best in the weight class in the same fashion he's dominated every fight since his loss to Serra. GSP's new style is very effective, but not nearly as exciting as he used to be. My guess is the UFC will make the Silva fight happen, but I don't think GSP can win. I think Silva will KO him. And, finally, Dan Henderson. That was worth the price for me...to see one of my very favorite fighters shut the overrated, big mouth Michael Bisping up with one of the most vicious KO's I've ever seen. I was hoping that's how it would end, but even I didn't envision it being that good. Henderson has a lot of power. He's a great fighter. I hope he gets another shot at Anderson Silva, although I doubt he can beat him. I'm not sure anyone actually thought Bisping stood a good chance in this fight. Bisping is a decent technical striker, but he isn't all that powerful and Henderson has an iron head, so there wasn't much chance of Hendo getting finished. On the flipside, Hendo has KO power, he's better in the clinch and on the ground. What chance did Bisping really have? You could tell Henderson didn't fear him at all...he stalked him and threw that right haymaker over and over until he finally caught him clean enough for the finish. He had no fear of Bisping actually hurting him or doing anything else. I loved it. I hope to get to watch Silva and Griffin next month. I think Silva will KO him in the first or second round. Also, think Florian has a much better chance against Penn than many are giving him credit for...neither of those guys really draw me in though. Florian gets on my nerves and, while I don't dislike BJ, I'm not a huge fan either. But, I think it will be an entertaining fight, and a pretty good complement to Silva/Griffin. I hope Couture beats Nog, but I don't really want to see Randy face Brock again. He's too old and I'm seriously afraid Brock will do some real damage. Randy doesn't have the size to win that matchup, IMO. I agree with all of this. Loved the Hendo knockout. While I agree about Couture and his age, I did think he showed that an experienced fighter can execute a fight plan against him. As for Fedor, I wonder if the years without much competition will slow him down? He didn't look in top form his last time out. However, I do think if anyone can beat Lesnar it's Fedor.

To be perfectly honest I don't think Fedor has any kind of transistion to make to the UFC. The UFC needs to transition to Fedor. There is a reason Sylvia, Arlovski, and Coleman no longer fight in the UFC (although Coleman fought last night) and that is because they are no longer what they once were. Fedor is without question the worlds greatest heavyweight and probably the worlds best fighter period. All I am trying to say is there have been a long list of guys tabbed to come in and dominate the UFC from other organizations, and it just hasn't happened yet.
