July 12, 200917 yr Mir was extremely, EXTREMELY lucky the first time they faced. Outside of the foothold Mir got in in the first match, Lesnar has dominated him for pretty much every second of their fights. It was a kneebar to be exact, and it wasnt luck, it was skill ...combined with luck and stupidity on Lesnars part :lol:. Mir was dominated last night. If he could have kept it standing I think he stood a chance, but as soon as it went to the ground he couldnt move with that huge bear sitting on top of him. He stood no chance on the ground last night. I think my heart wanted Mir to win more than anything. I know Lesnar is good, I just liked Mir more and wanted him to win. I also like to stir the pot a little, and since no one was rooting for Mir on here...I had to.
July 12, 200917 yr Its hard to be respectful to a guy who has talked crap to you for the past 17 months. He did appologize to Bud Light and the younger viewers for some of his comments after the fight on MMA Live post UFC 100 show. You think Lesnar hasnt talked crap? Lesnar called Mirs belt a "make believe" belt. How long have you been watching MMA? Most fighters talk crap to each other before the fight...but most end up being respectful after.

Something that may be interesting to you is to just go to Wikipedia and wikipedia some of the past ufc's/fighters. They have ever UFC 1-100 cataloged with some pretty detailed descriptions, and would give you a basic idea of how everything came about. If I was you I would wikipedia UFC I then read about the first few then skip ahead to some in the teens, then so forth and so on. The UFC has grown a lot this decade and in the past three or four years they have had major fights frequently. Like UFC 70 was only like two or three years ago, and the first one was in 1993. Sherdog is awful.
July 12, 200917 yr Thank you for that. Are there any UFC's in the most recent years that are worth watching? I can probably obtain quite a few of the most recent ones. If you look around hard enough you can find websites to watch every MMA fight for free. Id not really recommend going and watching entire UFC PPVs, but instead going and finding the best fights out of those ppvs. Stay away from watching the early UFCs unless you want to see pure brawling, and Royce Gracie tapping out idiots with his sick jiu jitsu lol. Instead Id go with the later ones. The Couture-Liddell trilogy is a good one. And the Rampage-Liddell fights are fun to watch. Go back and find some pride fights of Wanderlei Silva, those are fun, as are any Fedor fights. Also, if you want to see a bad bad man, go watch Shogun Rua in pride as well. He was at his best then. Another good fight was Rashad Evans vs. Lyoto Machida. It happened pretty recently. If you want to see a major upset, go watch Matt Serra vs Georges St. Pierre (the first one). Serra was a huge under dog, and it was fun to watch. Some other good ones from a little while ago are Matt Hughes vs. Frank Trigg. Pretty funny watching Trigg lose after hitting Hughes below the belt. There are tons of great fights to watch...so many I cant even begin to name them all. PM me and Ill see if I can find that website where you can watch MMA videos.
July 12, 200917 yr If he doesn't let those punches go he gets blamed for stopping the match too early. I don't understand why everyone is dogging Brock now. He has openly stated he has no respect for any person he faces. Of course he's not going to do anything good. Mir got knocked out and tried to get in his face, i'd be upset too.. The aftermatch comments were hilarious. Mir didnt try to get in his face from what I saw. Mir was rocked, he had no clue what was going on. Brock ran over and talked smack afterwards which is classless.
July 12, 200917 yr I'm glad to see this one attracted so many new fans to the octagon. They really did a nice job promoting UFC 100. I'm glad this one was pretty good because I'm not expecting anything for the next few months. The Noguiera/Couture fight looks to be about the only one that really catches my eye other than of course the Silva/Griffin matchup. You arent excited about BJ Penn vs Kenny Florian? I am... Nog-Couture doesnt really intrigue me at all. I expect Couture to win pretty easily if Nog comes in anything like he did vs. Mir. Silva vs. Griffin will be great.

I'll be the first to admit I can't correctly identify the terms in MMA. I'm a casual watcher, but I had seen both the fights. I suppose I should have indicated that there is some skill involved with getting the actual hold on, but he was lucky to be facing a guy that at the time didn't know any better.

Nog has a lot to prove after the Mir fight, before then he had been in pretty good form.
July 12, 200917 yr So, who is next for Brock. On a sidenote: One of the most memorable and impressive things I ever witnessed in wrestling was win, I think, it was Brock slamming the Giant and the ring collasped on two sides. That was cool.
July 12, 200917 yr Wow, what a post fight interview. That was intense. I cannot believe Lesnar had about zero fans there tonight, but he pretty much showed them he didn't care. For those who saw it, how classic was that post fight interview? Mir is from Las Vegas. Of course Brock wont have fans.
July 12, 200917 yr Nothing HB can say about this one. Lesnar dominated basically the same way he did the first, only he didn't leave any limbs vulnerable. I wonder if Mir still thinks Lesnar's ground and pound is comparable to your little sister pulling your hair.
