If this turns out to be true, then no wonder the Lakers didn't give Ariza any extra cash. Who needs Trevor when you got Ron. I hope this turns out to be true.

In 2 years time, LeBron will be on top of the world. It won't matter whatteam anybody is on. Especially if he stays in Cleveland.

 

L.A., San Antonio, Cleveland, Orlando, Boston and Denver will all be better than the Blazers next year. And I am not just talking regular season. Regular season is nothing but warm ups for the playoffs.

 

Roy and Aldridge are a great nucleus, but Fernandez wants out and Oden has yet to prove he is any better than Michael Olawakandi. You guys can talk the Blazers up all you want, I am not buying it after 1 "great" season.

And they got beat by the 5 seed 4 games to 2 in the 1st round against a team that was missing TMac. Yeah, that tells me they are building themselves to compete for a championship in the next 5 years. That Rockets team took the Lakers to 7 games. And the Blazers lack any legit playoff experience. Their two best players are very young. How long do the Celtics, Spurs and Lakers have as title frontrunners? 3 years? Maybe a little longer for the Lakers? If the Blazers keep the roster together, they can be next in line, IMO. Along with where LBJ goes, as well as what happens next off season. But, the Blazers will be up there.

 

If they were that good, they'd be on tv in late May so the whole world can watch them. I could care less what tv package you got or whatgame came on in December. The proof is in the pudding and they were on tv 6 times during the 40 games in 40 nights on TNT. And actually, at least 2 of those games were on NBA TV because they aren't that good.

 

The Blazer aren't in a big market. Most fans know more about Oden than Aldridge or Roy. They play on the West Coast. Now if Fernadez leaves that will set them back, but the have an All-star in Roy, a future all-star in Aldridge, and a supposedly potentially great Oden. They will be tough.

Well the Lakers have just won the 2010 NBA title. ESPN has reported that Artest is going there. I don't think anyone can beat them. Artest and Kobe will lock down the perimeter.

Makes me sick honestly. I feel bad for LBJ, 6 years in Cleveland and they've:

1. Screwed over a young All-Star PF in Boozer

2. Kept on to scrubs like Big Z, Larry Hughes, Wally Sczerbiak, Anderson Varajao etc. for far too long.

3. Made trades that would have been great 5 years ago, such as the Ben Wallace and Shaq trades.

4. Missed out on some big FA's, because they didn't plan their cap accordingly.

A lot of big names moving this offseason...should make for some exciting match ups next year. If Ariza ends up with the Cavs and Artest to the Lakers, they'd both have to be the favorites to get out of their conferences. Their lineups would be loaded:

 

Cavs- West, Williams, Ariza, Bron, Shaq

Lakers- Fisher, Artest, Kobe, Gasol, Bynum

Didn't Varejao already opt out of his contract? I don't see the Cavs trying to sign him and being able to sign Ariza as well.

Yes, but who's going to pay him? Who wants him. The Thunder had cap and had interest, but they picked up overpayed Zach Randolph. Varajao will be back imo, even if it's only in a sign and trade. He's all about the money.

 

Ariza, which I don't expect, would have to be signed with the MLE, Varajao could be signed with that but he doesn't have to be and a wont be. If the Lakers can have a 6 Billion dollar payroll, any other team can that wants to and has the money.

Cavs can go over the cap to sign Varajao, as they have "Bird" rights to him.

 

If Ariza wants to be a Cav, he can only make a max of 5.8 million per year.
