July 2, 200917 yr I figured Cleveland would go after Villenueva. I wonder why they didn't. They couldn't offer anywhere close to what Detroit could....
July 2, 200917 yr IMO Portland gets Hedo. And I think the Lakers get it done with Odom and Ariza, they know how important they both are and they sold their draft picks for money to resign them, imo they get them both signed back.
July 2, 200917 yr They couldn't offer anywhere close to what Detroit could.... Who are the Cavs going to go after now. They need one more post player, a PF because big Z and Shaq can't do it all themselves. If they had some money I say go after Lee or Hedo, but with LeBron being a FA after next season and shaq making 20 mil next year, they can not afford either contract multi years.
July 2, 200917 yr Shaq is one and done in Cleveland, the only way he is resigned is if they win the title.
July 2, 200917 yr It's not looking to good for Ariza and the Lakers right now. Sounds to me that the Lakers are leaning towards keeping Odom and letting Ariza go. It'll obviously be too hard to keep both. I am fine with that. I'd much rather see Odom stay than Ariza if I had to choose one. Odom will be worth the 10 million per season. IMO, Ariza is not worth 10 million a year. Can't wait to hear how it's Kobe's fault that Ariza left.
July 2, 200917 yr In regards to Ariza, I love it when guys are offered 5-6 million dollars per year copntracts and they act insulted and use the line, "I have to do what is best for my family." As if 5-6 million couldn't take care of his family.
July 2, 200917 yr Author ^ He is thinking about taking the same deal with another team because he feels insulted. That is the MLE and a lot of the teams he is talking to that is all they can offer him. I guess winning really doesn't mean as much to a lot of these guys as you think. I can't say I blame them though.
July 2, 200917 yr They offered 5.6, that isn't that far off. I'd think he wants more than 6-7 million. If he just wants 6 or 7 million, then I expect the Lakers to re-sign him also. I don't know what he is looking for. I just know he is upset and looking at taking the same 5.6 million from Cleveland.

I guess winning really doesn't mean as much to a lot of these guys as you think. I can't say I blame them though. Ain't that the truth. I hope he comes back, but I'd hate to see him leave when he could get 5.6 million from the Lakers and get the same money to play for Cleveland or a million or 2 more to play for Portland or Toronto. I guess we'll see how this plays out.:idunno:
July 2, 200917 yr Ron Artest says on his twitter, "I just signed with the Knicks for 12 milion, Thanks Donnie Walsh!!!" I dont know if that is true, but if it is ill feel cool for spotting it.

I guess winning really doesn't mean as much to a lot of these guys as you think. I can't say I blame them though. Why should he worry about winning anymore? He's got a championship. I'd go get some money. As much as I could...

July 2, 200917 yr A million or two more is a lot of money. He isn't going to play basketball all his life, I don't blame him for getting as much as he possibly can. I'd take a million less and keep on winning as opposed to going to Portland or Toronto and make a couple million more to lose yearly. I really really hate losing though.
