He and Artest are actually good friends and he apparently signed a contract that averages 6 million per year which is what the Lakers were trying to get with Ariza which will in turn free up money for Odom who has already publicly stated he will stay in L.A. for less money. Apparently Odom and Artest value winning more than money.

That Rockets team took the Lakers to 7 games. And the Blazers lack any legit playoff experience. Their two best players are very young. How long do the Celtics, Spurs and Lakers have as title frontrunners? 3 years? Maybe a little longer for the Lakers? If the Blazers keep the roster together, they can be next in line, IMO. Along with where LBJ goes, as well as what happens next off season. But, the Blazers will be up there.

 

 

 

The Blazer aren't in a big market. Most fans know more about Oden than Aldridge or Roy. They play on the West Coast. Now if Fernadez leaves that will set them back, but the have an All-star in Roy, a future all-star in Aldridge, and a supposedly potentially great Oden. They will be tough.

They are in a much different part of their careers than Ariza, Artest said he would play in LA for free. :lol: Yes apparently Odom and Artest are good friends and Artest have been living in LA all year.

Artest for Ariza. As a Lakers fan, I love it. Ariza played well in the postseason, but he's no Artest. LA gets a lockdown, junkyard dog type of player they've been needing. And Artest cost less that Ariza, go figure...

So for all you folks talking about "cashing in", he left a championship winning team to go to a team whose center may never play again(Yao), whose best player won't be back until midseason(TMac) and now their best player left not injured(Artest) took Ariza's spot so Ariza could make $200,000.00 more per year. Good job, Trevor. Your agent is impeccable. At least it's good too see his family will be better off with that extra $200,000.00 a year.

I heard the Lakers never made an offer to him officially. When his agent came to them they told him to go see what was out there and then came back to the Lakers and let them know.
