June 15, 200917 yr Just got in from Game 5, amazing atmosphere. If you ever get a chance to go to a NBA Final, please go. Orlando's crowd was enthusiastic through about midway 1st half, then they just sat on their hands. Congrats to the Lakers. You are one lucky man.
June 15, 200917 yr Actually, I'm glad to see Kobe get a title without Shaq. Now he has one of his own, and an MVP to boot. All great players should have that. The Lakers could have another title in the future. Gasol is what 28? I think Bynum will start getting better. Remember he is still extremely young. I think it really depends on what the Rockets do and how quickly the Trailblazers develop, in the West. Also, the Lakers need to resign Odom and Ariza ASAP. But, I wouldn't count them out in the future. I couldn't see why people thought this was Kobe's last shot. As for Kobe can't win one without (insert name here), all I'm going to say is that no one can win one without teammates, ask LeBron. Gasol is overrated IMO, and benefits from Kobe and Odom, but he's a nice #2. As for the Celtics talk it's really irrelevant, Garnett was hurt and the Celtics have been watching the Playoffs for about a month now. For the record though, I think the Celtics would have given the Lakers all they could handle, but I don't think the Celtics would have gotten past the Cavs in the ECF if that makes any sense. As for the best team, well only one team with a title this season so I don't see the debate.
June 15, 200917 yr I would have rather have beaten the Celtics, then the Cavs, then the Bobcats, then the Magic. I was one of the ones who said this was Kobe's last stand, but I don't know. He will be rested next season. He'll definitely keep it interesting. I don't think he is done. I like what Magic Johnson said....."My wallet is going to get lighter because I need to re-sign Ariza and Odom." Best line of the night.
June 15, 200917 yr I like how we can't even give Kobe his one night to shine.. He is the best player on the best team.. MVP. I love that he got one more..

Odom is going to need to take a nice discount and he said he is willing so we shall see.
June 15, 200917 yr Kobe puppet: "LeBron, have you seen my 4 championship rings? I can't seem to find my 4 championship rings." LeBron puppet: "I wished you luck, don't make me take it back, because next year, I am going to bring Shaq." I can't wait for the next puppet commercial.
June 15, 200917 yr You are one lucky man. Not going to lie Hammer I was lucky. It was fun to say the least, lot more Laker fans than I expected and they were getting heckled all the way until the Lakers hasd their run midway through the 2nd and they were quiet
June 15, 200917 yr Congrats to the Lakers on bringing home the title, and hats off to Kobe Bryant for winning the Finals MVP, and Phil Jackson for bringing home ring #10

Except for Fisher it's not like the Lakers are that old. Kobe is a hard worker I don't expect him to just get old this off season. He's got a minimum 3 years before we can tell a noticeable decline in his game, IMO.
June 15, 200917 yr After all the gloating by UKMF after the Eastern Conference Finals, you would think he would at least show up in this thread after telling us all how much smarter he is than us.
June 15, 200917 yr After all the gloating by UKMF after the Eastern Conference Finals, you would think he would at least show up in this thread after telling us all how much smarter he is than us. Had it not have been for a little Beagle I know, UKMF would have forced me to root for the Lakers after the ECF. I guess that's why I really didn't care one way or the other...after game 3 or course:D
June 15, 200917 yr "Congratulations kobe, u deserve it," O'Neal said on Twitter page. "You played great. Enjoy it my man enjoy it."
June 15, 200917 yr We finally saw the Orlando team I expected. A team that couldn't get it done in the big moments and then pretty much quit when the chips got down. That, more than anything else, is why I didn't give them a real shot to make it to the finals. They definitely proved me wrong for the last two games against Boston and the whole Cleveland series. It's amazing how "close" a 4-1 series can be though. If Courtney Lee makes a layup or a runner, and if Dwight Howard hits one FT, LA could have been playing for their lives in Game 5. Instead, they blow Orlando out for the second time and polish off a 4-1 win.
June 15, 200917 yr One thing I noticed about Orlando was their lack of aggressiveness on the offensive glass. Seemed like no one was ever underneath battling for a stickback. Once it got dumped to DH they all just stood on the perimeter and watched. If an outside shot was taken no one crashed the boards from the outside. Howard got a couple just due to the fact that he was already in the post. As poorly as they shot the ball (except one game) you'd think they would make an effort to rebound the ball, and get a stickback and or foul. I just didn't understand the lack effort on their part.
