June 14, 200917 yr We had our first Beer Cheese festival here in Clark Co today. I was telling a friend in Henderson Co about it. She had never heard of beer cheese....:eek:. Just wondering how many of you all have eaten it, your favorite, or just any thoughts? I have been told that Beer Cheese originated here in Clark Co when Johnny Allman had his restaurant here.

June 14, 200917 yr I hadn't heard of beer cheese either, until I moved to Lexington and a new friend from Laurel Co. told me I had to try it. It's good stuff, and I agree, better with a beer.

It will be featured on Ch 27. The 3 I voted for...and yes I tasted them all...Was Southwind, my favorite resturant in Winchester, River Rat, from the Engine House Deli Resturant, and Allmans.

I would say my favorite Beer Cheese would be my dads. Absolutely amazing! Better than Hall's, taste's a lot like Southwind's. Next time you are at Southwind Gold, FedEx me about 40 tubs ok?:thumb:

It was also about 7:00 and I knew that it would be really crowded. Southwinds beer cheese is great and my favorite too. 40 tubs...I would need a u-haul to send it in..:lol:
June 14, 200917 yr I fished with the kids this morning then sat by the pool with beverage and beer cheese:) I've had several different kinds that I like but Halls is definatly my favorite! If you like pretty spicy stuff and beer you will love it I think.

June 14, 200917 yr We have had beer cheese in our family for years, it's very good. Our family in Germany eats it as well.
June 14, 200917 yr I have eaten at Hall's on the River and their food and beer cheese is excellent. Never had Southwind, where exactly are they located?
