Yankees feeling the heat of 0-8 start vs. the Red Sox?

Featured Replies

Is all the national media attention on the Red Sox historic 8-0 start starting to get to the Yankees? With their 3 run rally against CC Sabathia and the Yankees bullpen in the 8th inning last night the Sox became only the 3rd team to ever start out a season 8-0 against the Yankees, joining the 1912 Red Sox and the 1990 Oakland A's. Last night the Yankees put a lot of emphasis on the fact that they are only 2 games out after the sweep but today it seems to be getting under their skin a bit more. First Joe Girardi accuses Brad Penny of throwing at A-Roid on purpose (for what its worth I agree with him--but still enjoyed it):

Girardi thinks pitch was intentional

Then Teixeira lets Red Sox owner John Henry's Twitter post get to him:

Tex not amused by "curse of MT"

The teams don't meet again until August--just how much play will that matchup get?

Sure seems their getting upset with it. If Giardi is that upset with the pitch Pedroia and the other Sox stars better watch out for that "payback" pitch.

The Yankees should be upset about it. They're a more talented team than Boston, and if they had taken even one of those games, they'd be tied with Boston right now.

That's debatable. The Yankees have more high profile players but the Red Sox are better in the outfield and vastly superior in the bullpen. The Sox also have a better bench and more depth in their rotation.

I should have added IMO.

I always thought that a rivalry by definition had to be competitive.:D

Couldn't wait for a Yankee post so they just start one up. Maybe they should wait until the season is over and all the games are played. To make a point 0-8 but 2 games out? Do they really know how baseball works, or just wanna bash the Yanks? I'd rather win in October than in June.

Feelin the heat, I don't think so.

You have to win in June to be able to play that late don't you?

Yanks have not done much of that lately.

What part of "2 Games out of first" did y'all forget to read? A week ago they had the best record in B-Ball, do y'all really know the sport?

We've heard the same thing for the last several years.....Its only April, then its only June, then there's still plenty of baseball left, then we'll get it done in October. We know its June, we also know that this is something a team has only done to the almighty Yankees twice in their history and their players and coaches are really starting to chafe at it. It also further underscores that George Steinbrenner must really not be able to be active in the running of the team because he certainly would have fired someone by now.

Also for what it is worth they Yankees did not have the best record in baseball a week ago. The Dodgers have held the best record in baseball for quite some time. And yes, I know the sport very, very well. I never said that the division race was over--just that New York's failures against Boston seem to be wearing on the Yankees.

:lol::lol::lol:

Alabama loses a bunch of wins and the Yankees can't defeat the Red Sox...

If only something bad would happen to Ohio State football - this would be the Wireman Triple Crown :thumb:
