Rock's 8th grade team lost to Boyle middle twice and Boyle was not great.

 

Boyle County's freshman team isn't going to look to well? Boy, I sure hope you are wrong. I didn't get a chance to see the middle school teams play last season so I obviously have no judgement.

They can't even play a JV schedule without playing senior on the JV team. Thats way my son quit. So I guess you all play senior against Freshman.

 

Your statement is not true, All starters and Sr.s were held out of Jv. games, don't know how you can say you are a Raider Fan when you are always neg. towards Football program. Get with us or get out of the way.:walk:

McCreary should have a competitive Fr. Team . Have about 5 or 6 kids who can spot play on Varsiety if need Be.

They have some good players but have lost 3 linemen off last years team who will not return this year. That will make it very difficult.

When do the Freshman Schedules usually come out. I heard that Highlands Freshman were having a hard time scheduling games because no one wants to play us.:confused:

I thought Highlands was playing in the big school freshman conference. I would think the conference lineup would set most, if not all, of the schedule. That is where they played last year and lost a couple of games. I am not sure why they would have trouble scheduling freshman games.

Not true. Beechwood will have a freshman team. The numbers are lower than normal like happens at times in a small school. This year's senior class at Beechwood has only 8 or 9 players and those guys are all wearing two championship rings. There will be a freshman team.

I believe that a lot of their younger kids play up. Plus their class sizes are pretty small. We are talking about an "A" school.

Just a weird set of circumstances this year with 7 or 8 kids all actually leaving Beechwood for a wide variety of reasons. Off the top of my head - 2 kids returned to Lloyd after a 1 year stay at Beechwood, one wants to wrestle at Moeller where his Dad wrestled, one's dad is a head football coach in Ohio so he is going to play for that school, a couple are moving out of the area due to job changes...and all those would have been starters and 4 of them are good enough to build a strong winning team around by themselves. Add in 2 kids who can't play due to asthma and 2 or 3 others who are only going to play basketball and baseball. Now you have 10+ kids you were expecting to play gone. So now you have a 25-30 man roster down to 15-20. Just a really strange set of circumstances hitting all at once. And with all that said, the Beechwood tradition will live on. Count on it.

 

I am reminded of one of my favorite Paul Brown quotes that he would say to his team at the start of every season - "All of you are important, none of you are absolutely necessary." The Beechwood coaches will take the group before them and put together a winner for this year and beyond.

I believe the updated frosh schedule has added a game with them playing Lexington Catholic on Oct. 22 at 6:00 @Highlands. Also, the Boone Co. game has been moved up a day to Sept. 2 presumably to avoid a conflict with HHS varsity Thursday night TV clash with Beechwood. I believe there may have been one other game time or date change but I don't have that updated schedule in front of me.

Sorry I didn't know of the changes. If my schedule is not complete, then that means Henry's schedule is not complete. Sorry for the confusion.....
