May 18, 200917 yr People keep saying how much better Chauncey is than Brooks but the Lakers matchup so much better with him than Brooks. I like the matchups at every position other than PG. It really depends on which Lakers teams shows up. They play like they did today the will sweep them, that's not likely I says Lakers in 7. I doubt it. Let's not forget they were playing a team with no super stars, at home. They should have won by 20-30 :lol:. I say Denver in 6.

May 18, 200917 yr Lakers are -300 for the series, so not a Huge favorite but I find it hard to see this one going to a 7th game. This one goes no more than six games. Cavs at this point are -566 to win the East.
May 18, 200917 yr I'll take the nuggets in 5. The Lakers got pushed to the limit and I think they are simply not deep enough; after Kobe Bryant there isn't one clear cut second scoring option. Will Gasol show up every night like he did today? Will Odom be able to step up and score consistently? Will Ariza show up like he did today? Will Fisher be able to avoid getting dominated by Billups? This year's lakers team is not comparable to the Celtics of last year. The Celtics were much better in the front court and a much better team; if Pierce didn't show up, Garnett could step up and so could Allen as well. Celtics take game 1 and the Nuggets win out.

The Lakers are the better team, but will they be focused enough to win it? The Lakers held them under 100 3 times and they barely got over 100 the other time. If the Lakers keep them under 100 they win. If it's a shootout I'm not so sure.

May 18, 200917 yr The only aspect of the Rockets series that matters is the Lakers apathy in games 1, 4 and 6. The fact that Houston pushed them to 7 is a direct result of LA's lack of interest and motivation. The Lakers average margin of victory in their 8 playoff wins is 16.8 ppg. The two road wins were both by 14 points. They needed game 3 vs. Houston to regain home court, so they came out and controlled the game and won by 14. They don't have a single playoff win by single digits. The point? This series is all about LA. If they decide to show up and play, Denver can't beat them. When the Lakers don't feel like playing, they'll lose. Two scenarios, IMO... 1. Will the Lakers tank it 4 times in a best-of-seven? 2. Suppose the Lakers play like they did vs. Houston...3 bad games, 4 good ones...can Denver beat a motivated Lakers team one time? That's Denver's chance to win. If LA comes to play the whole series, those are moot points.
