May 9, 200917 yr Here is the best article I've seen yet proving Pitino isn't leaving....LINK Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this what he told the UK recuits right before he left UK for the NBA?
May 9, 200917 yr How can anybody believe a word that Rick Pitino says? Great coach that talks out of every side of his mouth.
May 9, 200917 yr Saw on the ESPN bottom line that he contacted the Kings about their job but they weren't interested. Does that mean he is only staying because the Kings didn't want him?
May 9, 200917 yr No way, IF he coaches this year he is in it for at least one more after that. No way he quits one year before the arena opens. Agreed.

May 11, 200917 yr No way, IF he coaches this year he is in it for at least one more after that. No way he quits one year before the arena opens. I seem to recall Pitino stating before that he doesn't think he'll ever coach in the new arena....
May 11, 200917 yr I seem to recall Pitino stating before that he doesn't think he'll ever coach in the new arena....[/QUOT I've never heard that. In fact, I've always heard the complete opposite.

May 11, 200917 yr Pitino has said he's not going anywhere. Shouldn't that be the end of it until he or the school says otherwise? Unless one of us is in the Pitino or Jurich household I doubt anyone on here knows what will happen. As much as I love college basketball one of the things that I hate is how everyone has to try and "scoop" everyone else with their source, their hunch or their hope. These things, whether it is Pitino's status, a recruit's status or the number of scholarships will play out in their own time and none of us truly knows what will happen. I don't know of anyone on here, no matter how solid their "source" that hasn't been wrong in their predictions. This is a fun time for basketball in the bluegrass, just buckle up and enjoy the ride. It'll work out the way its supposed to.

I've never heard such a thing... I have read that in another thread on here. Not saying it is true, but I have read about it.

May 11, 200917 yr Pitino has said he's not going anywhere. Shouldn't that be the end of it until he or the school says otherwise? In a world where coaches didn't lie about this kind of thing all the time, yes. In the real world where coaches say they aren't going anywhere, and then two days later have a signed contract at a new school, there is going to be speculation.
