The Nation's Top-Rated Recruiting Class?

Featured Replies

1. Wall (Galloway) If Wall does not come.

2. Bledsoe

3. Meeks (Miller) if he does not come back.

4. Cousins

5. Patterson

I think this could be the best team ever. With Meeks, Patterson and Wall all being on the roster next year.

Back up a little, Does 1996 ring a bell?

Stewart is the safe bet as one.

I'd venture to add Liggins to that list as well, though he said he likes Cal.

Although Harrellson wants to stay, I would say the chances are slim.

By the way, Jerry Meyer said Kentucky would have the new #1 class with the rankings come out.

So is it safe to say Liggins, Stewart, and Harrellson are only ones in question? And if we don't sign Wall which one of the three stay?

I would say Harrellson, even though he is probably the least equipped for the system.

Stewart and Liggins could be nice in the system, but academic problems, among other things, might push them out the door.

After it's all said and done here is UK's lineup next year. I just have a feeling the ball is starting to roll in our favor as UK fans...

Wall FR

Meeks SR

Miller SO

Patterson JR

Cousins FR

Bench

Bledsoe FR

Orton FR

Dodson SO

Harris SR

Stevenson SR

Pilgrim JR

Hood FR

Liggins SO

Galloway SR

Championship #8 is soon to come! :thumb:

Goodness gracious .... Championship No. 8 .... folks you better wait and see if Wall is coming first and if you think Patterson is a lock coming back then you're in for a good one.

The whole statement was if that was the actual roster for next year championship number 8 would soon follow. Obviously that changes if Wall and Patterson dont come...:irked:

By the way Pilgrim is a SO as he will have 3 years of eligibility left...

No, he will be a JR, he played two years at Hampton.

No, you stated after it's all said and done here is Kentucky's line-up next season .... anyway, go ask the Fab Five and they'll tell you championships aren't won on paper, it's won on the court. :thumb::sssh::ylsuper::idunno:

Calipari has had lots of talented teams in the past and doesn't have any national titles to show for it.:scared:

The local pressure was his mother. Sampson wanted so bad to go to KY, but his mother pressured him into going to UVA. He spoke with Joe B Hall, in tears, saying that he was sorry and he really wanted to play at UK but his mother's pressure won the day. Had his mother allowed him to go where he wanted, talk about a special recruiting class. :scared:

I was being kind. :D (Not wanting to mention names.)

I really think had Sampson come it would have been a special time at UK.

My only knock on Sampson's career was that he never wanted it in the clutch. I have a reporter friend who covered UVA then. Sometime later he was talking 'off the record' with Holland. He asked why the last play of Sampson's career (1 point loss to NC State) was not designed for him. Holland said, "We got in the huddle and Ralph said, 'Don't give me the ball.' he didn't want it."

And Neither did Roy Williams for the VAST majority of his career. Nor Dean Smith until the 20th season or so of his career. Nor Boeheim until what, the 30th? Come to think of it, how long did it take Wooden? (15 years?)

Truth is a lot of factors go into winning it besides talent.

Actually, I do agree with your first statement wholeheartedly and if these fans are shouting "we're #1" tongue in cheek then they ought to have their heads examined. :thumb:

It doesn't matter, he hasn't won one and the other fellas have. Until he does, well you know ..... but I do see where you are coming from.

I still think Galloway is a better PG than Liggins. He is a much better passer too.

Ok...well if for some reason this isn't the lineup next year my prediction will have to change. I said number 8 is soon to come, I didnt say next year.

And in response to your comment about the fab 5 they relied on all freshman. If you look at the starting 5 Meeks and Patterson are in there. And they about did win it with all freshman if it wouldnt have been for Webber's freshman mistake by calling a timeout.

It won't be Galloway.

So you think if Kentucky's starting lineup next year is....

Wall

Meeks

Miller (or Dodson)

Patterson

Cousins

...they shouldn't be a legit vote for preseason #1 next year? Name a starting 5 better than that......
