Warrior32 Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 The more and more I think about it, I seem to think that the COT is DJ problem, We watched him dominate at Dega, Richmond and a few others over the years, Why has Johnson, Stewart and so on, Adapted to the COT? And Jr cant seem to grasp how this car works?
TheLegends64 Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I think Jr. is a okay driver, not super great. I'm not sold on Eury, if he wasn't Jr's counsin I don't think he would be the crew chief. I think if Jr changed his crew chief he might fair better more often.

NCC06 Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I'm thinking Dale Jr. is the next Kyle Petty LoL I don't know if I would go that far, but if he is one of the 7 best drivers as someone said earlier he should have been able to adapt to the COT. The driver that was said that the COT does not fit his driving style the most was J. Gordon and look at him, a win and the points leader.

Da champ Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 What suprises is me is Junior has always been a good short track racer. For some reason that ability has left him. Short trackin is short trackin no matter the car.

gchs_uk9 Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 FWIW, Junior is currently tied for eighth (Matt Kenseth) among active full-time drivers with 18 wins. He's eighth in top fives, eighth in top tens, eleventh in poles won.

He is average at best, but I do think he would be a lot better off without Eury Jr. I really hope he can turn things around because I like him, but I just don't see it happening.

Seems Dale Jr. just hasn't been able to live up to his name. Maybe Eury has something to do with it, maybe it's the COT. Time will tell.
