May 10, 200917 yr Dickerson and McDonald have no business being on the roster. They are a waste, and bring nothing at all to the table. I hope Jocketty makes a move before the road trip. Gomes needs to be brought up for one of the spots, and he needs to get another lefty to bring off the bench. Luis Gonzalez could fill that role. I'm sure he's still available. Kenny Lofton would be another one. They would obviously need a two or three weeks to get ready, but either one would be a very nice addition to this team.

I'd be okay with keeping either Dickerson or McDonald, but no way both of them should be on the team. I'd much rather prefer Gomes & another player take their spots, especially since it seems Nix will be the everyday LF. There was some talk about Luis Gonzalez being acquired in the offseason. That fell through, but I'd love to add his veteran bat to our bench. I'm not sure about Lofton, although he'd be an upgrade over Dickerson and McDonald.

May 11, 200917 yr The Reds exposed some of the weaknesses of the Cards during this series. It wasn't as much the Reds exposing the Cards' weaknesses as it was the Cards coming back to earth. St. Louis had several pitchers (Piniero, Lohse and Franklin) working over their heads, and all of them came back to earth this weekend. I still think 90 wins will take the Central division. Nobody in the division is all that great.
May 11, 200917 yr Watched the game with dad today. Harriston cost them the game on two balls! Sure if fun to be in a spot to sweep St Louis though! I enjoy watching this group and am glad people see now that Griff and Dunn weren't all they were cracked up to be.

And be honest ... he would look pretty good in the batting order right now.
May 11, 200917 yr Dunn wasn't the Reds' problem. And be honest ... he would look pretty good in the batting order right now. I agree with this. He never seemed like a clubhouse problem and although he did have his faults he was a productive player. I don't think he was worth what he originally sought in the free agent market but he would have been very useful in left at the price that he signed for. His bat could be the difference in the Reds being contenders all season.
