Track the Reds (Week 4)

Featured Replies

Reds lose 8-6. Not a good night of baseball for the Reds. A lot of mistakes tonight. Owings struggled the first couple of innings, but pitches pretty decent after that. Gonzo with a three run homer after the Reds were down 5-0 to make it 5-3 in the 4th inning I believe. The score stayed that way until the 7th when the Pirates had the bases loaded with one out. Weathers comes in to induce a sure fire double play ball, but Rosales with a big miscue, even though the error went to Phillips, Rosales was to blame for the Reds not getting out of the inning. Phillips dogged it again, (2nd time in a week) this time on a pop up to short RF. Sanchezdropped the ball, and Phillips was standing on first. Baker needs to teach Phillips a lesson IMO. I remember Charlie Manual benching Jimmy Rollins in between innings last year against the Reds for doing the same thing.

Needs to be traded if possible. Sick and tired of his attitude.

Even though I am aware this is :deadhorse: I really believe this team needs to deal for a right-handed bat w/ power, preferably to play in Left Field.

Didn't get to watch much of yesterday's game, saw Owings have a rough first inning, however if Phillips fields that double play ball he gives up only one run instead of 4 or whatever it was.

Hopefully Harang can pitch another gem vs. the Pirates today to take the series.

Bailey or Arroyo and Encarcion for Holliday (A's) of Garrett Adkins (Rockies). Might have to throw in a minor league player if necessary>

Good to see Nix rewarded for his strong ABs.

It's even better to see Phillips rewarded for his hustle the past week.

Cueto is putting together a great start to the season. Got a shutout going in the 8th, ERA is well under 2.00 now, and is not walking people. He's got 9 k's today, 1 BB.

13-11. Last years team was 9-15 at this point. I'll take it:banana:

:thumb: Indeed. Also, best road record in baseball. Hopefully they will start playing better at home, but I believe they will. The Reds pitching has been outstanding thus far, and hopefully they can get some more run support. Honestly, I still can't see them being able to win the central unless they make a move for a right handed power bat. I hope they prove me wrong though.

Another rock solid performance by Cueto.

I expected the pitching staff to do big things this year; however, they've been even better than I anticipated at this point in the season. Hopefully they'll continue. It's tough to lose when you don't give up any runs. :thumb:

Glad to see the Reds get this win today. 13-11 isn't to bad at this point in the young season. I do wish it was 16-8, or 17-7, but I'll take what we got.

Nest weekend against the Cardinals in Cincinnati will tell the story if we can be contenders. We have Cueto, Harang and Volquez pitching the three games. We must play well and win at least two of three!!!!!!

Marlins & BrewCrew first...

The Reds go to Miami for 2 games & then come home and play the Brewers for 2.

What's the deal with the 2 game series??
