Nothing with Chad Ocho Cinco is a "private" affair.

 

TJ spent something like 7 or 8 seasons with the Bengals. I think he has earned the right to speak about them. It reflect poorly upon the Bengals, but I don't think it's malicious. Unfortunately, I think it's accurate.

 

With that said, if the yapping continues once the season starts, I'll be disappointed. But now, it's fine with me.

 

But if Chad did this everyone would be outraged. It doesn't make any sense. Chad and TJ are very similar, but for some reason everyone likes TJ more. I guess he was quiet enough to the media, so most people didn't know how he really acted.

TJ played hard while he was here. He did what he was asked to do, as a football player. I know not what went on behind the scenes. Due to my ignorance, I have no choice but to evaluate TJ with what I know.

 

Based on the information I know, I have no problem with TJ. He played hard as a Bengal. Now that he's moved on, he has been open about his time here. I don't fault him for that.

 

I will have a problem with TJ if the talk continues into the season, though.

I want Chad gone, but like I've stated before it is because I like him. He is a great player and was very cool to talk to when I met him. The Bengals are the worst franchise in the NFL, not named the Lions and Raiders, and they rival them to be honest. Marvin Lewis??? Why? He was a great coordinator with the Ravens, but enough is enough considering the Bengals have one of the worst defenses in the league. The front office does very little from year to year to try to improve. I don't know if his skills are deteriorating, but I think it is possible it is a Randy Moss like thing where he doesn't want to play for an organization that doesn't really try to win.

 

I think you're a year late with the defense complaint. Looked like they took a huge step forward last year on D and the final rankings proved that (I think they ended up 14th or something in total D) It also looked as if Marvin got control of his team back.

Good call. I missed the initial post where the poster referred to T. Holt, and just caught the Holt comments. Regardless, my point remains that Glenn Holt is not the answer in Cincinnati.

I don't think that is fair to say. I mean he very well could still be a great defensive coordinator if ended up doing that. I will agree with you somewhat that as a head coach, I don't think he is that great. I think he did a good job getting the team to believe when he first got here, however I think he has taken them as far as he can take them. He definitely has many flaws as a head coach. I think as a defensive coordinator he could still be very good, but he has yet really tried to take over the defense since he was here.

I'd also argue that Chad wanted TJ to talk about it. We all know that Chad is a baby and loves the spotlight.

 

I'd also argue that TJ is talking about his experiences with Cincinnati, so it's irrelevant who he plays for now.

4. I disagree that this falls under any experience privilege for TJ. You have to make up your mind, either TJ was doing Chad's bidding or TJ was talking about his experience. In my opinion this was obviously Chad and TJ trying to circumvent the system. Also, TJ took some other parting shots including taking one at Marvin. To me this is more axe grinding by TJ and all the more reason I am glad he is gone and I will be glad when Chad is gone. Addition by subtraction.

I think with Marvin the Bengals will remain at best a .500 team, or maybe every now and then like in 2005 get a good run together. I agree that I don't think he is the answer to getting the Bengals up even higher in NFL ranks. His game management is absolutely horrible, probably the worst in the league. I think its really dumb that he kept Bob Bratkowski around as well. This offense has been stale for a few years, and that was before the injuries. I mean every players including Palmer has hinted a few times, that he is not happy with how the offense is run. I really don't get why they kept him. I would have more faith in this team, if they would have atleast gotten rid of Bratkowski.

You said they HAVE one of the worst defenses in the league...I'm just saying that wasn't the case last year. You can argue about Marvin all day, but it's a fact that their defense was what kept them in the games that they were in last year and the offense was inept.
