April 20, 200917 yr I also like to sop up the blood and juice in the bottom of the platter with a hunk of bread. That's dessert for me. Thats one of the most disgusting things I've ever heard in my life! But I guess whatever floats your boat lol. I just can't do that man.:thumb:
April 20, 200917 yr The only steakhouse that I've ever been to that I didn't require A1 which I love btw, is a place called Doe's Eatplace. We got 1 in Paducah if anyone is ever down here. It actually originated in my hometown in Mississippi, and one of the grandkids happened to open one in Paducah. Best steak you will ever have!

April 20, 200917 yr Thats one of the most disgusting things I've ever heard in my life! But I guess whatever floats your boat lol. I just can't do that man.:thumb: Correct. This would be a boring place if everybody was exactly the same. And there is a lot of "food snobbery" out there. If you like it cooked to the consistency of shoe leather, then feel compelled to cover it with ketchup, that's all right with me. Just don't force me to watch. I have read that rare beef is much easier to digest and to convert the proteins than overcooked beef.

April 20, 200917 yr As I was reading that I swear that was said on TV. AMAZING! Well, I'm a couple of rooms removed from the TV. I used to be tough to beat in Trivial Pursuit, though...
April 20, 200917 yr Thats good I thought you knew the TV was going to say it or something, I was really impressed.Thought you had ESP or something. I still am actually. You're more of a man than me if you can soak up blood with a roll for desert.
April 20, 200917 yr I also like to sop up the blood and juice in the bottom of the platter with a hunk of bread. That's dessert for me.Okay, I'm a vegetarian now...or a vegetable...one of the two.
April 20, 200917 yr If I'm ever down that way I will be sure to check that place out. :thumb: You won't be disapointed. It's been on TV as one of the top 5 steak houses in America. It's down by the river front, can't miss it. The Steaks are expensive but are advertised to feed like 4 people, the secret is, the cook them from the top and the juices drip down, then when they are cooking and done cooking, they baste the juices on them:banana:

April 20, 200917 yr I love A-1. The tangy taste is great. I don't always use it, but if I have a taste for it, then don't get in the way. BTW, I always laugh at the people who malign folks for using a steak sauce, but will use a rub or marinade before cooking. Either way, you are altering the taste of the steak. Whats the difference?
April 20, 200917 yr Medium rare with a little lemon pepper rub, no A-1. I do love A-1 on a hamburger though.
April 20, 200917 yr ^ I pretty much like to walk mine by the grill just so it gets warm. I also like to sop up the blood and juice in the bottom of the platter with a hunk of bread. That's dessert for me. You and I think alike on this one MC.
April 20, 200917 yr I generally do not apply A1, but when I do I basically drown the meat in it because it really does have a good taste.
