It's the nature of a lot of Reds fans. I believe I heard someone say they only won 3 games against Houston all of last year. Great start for the Reds on the road this year. :thumb:

That's what I was thinking. Everyone is dogging them for their BA. Im not going to lie I'd like it to be better but to be posting a winning record with the worst BA in the league says somthing. It means Dusty is managing well and that if they ever do turn it on and start hitting they could be even better.

The pitching has been pretty darn good, especially middle relief.

They are a 1/2 game back right now. Play well in Chicago and have the Cards stumble against the Mets and the Reds are in 1st coming home after the longest roadie of the year!

Their pitching well and getting timely hitting. That said, they do have to start hitting better if their going to compete in the central. The Reds and Yanks are the only two Teams in baseball that have winning records, and have given up more runs than they have scored. I'm pretty sure the Yanks will turn that around, but will the Reds?

I agree. I don't see them performing this well for the entire year b/c they have one guy who will hit above .270, but Dusty played all the cards right in that series. I don't care for him that much, but I can't argue w/ what he's done lately.

I think Dickerson, and possibly Phillips will end up over .270, with Bruce being pretty close.

Only one guy with 300+ ABs hit over .270 last year. So what's the difference? Team speed? Better D at SS and the corner OF positions? Better catching? And last but not least, better pitching? They get the team avg. up to .250 and they are way better than last season. BTW team avg was .247 last year. I'll take this team over the crud they have fielded since 2000 in a heartbeat.

I'd be ecstatic if Dickerson ends up hitting .270. I think it's a matter of time before he's our everyday option in left.

Obviously it's still early, but I've got a different feel about this team.

 

It could be due to the fact that they're all playing for their jobs & want to play (and work) hard. It's much more enjoyable to watch.

How long before Janish takes PT away from AGon? Can we really only play him every 3 or 4 days right now? Heck, the Rosales kid is ready to come up according to the Reds.

Each time that Arroyo has been on the hill, Hanigan has been behind the dish. Remember when Arroyo said he didn't have much chemistry with Hernandez, but wasn't going to ask for Hanigan as a personal catcher?

I like Hanigan a lot as a backup catcher / spot starter.

I've been hard on Gonzalex, but the guy just isn't producing. Janish is hitting .400 and went 2/3 again last night.
