Date Ideas

Featured Replies

So we were discussing this the other day while drinking and I'd heard some pretty interesting ideas. Figured I'd see what the fellow BGP'ers had to say on the matter. I'll go ahead and get the tradition dinner and a movie out of the way. I for one think this is the best time of the year to win over a lady, or visa versa for you outgoing women.

So lets hear it folks?

I'm not a big fan of the traditional dinner and a movie type dates. I'd say its best if you try to tie the outing to your date's interests. For example, I'm a pretty active, outdoorsy kind of girl. I had one guy take me to Dave and Busters and another take me hiking with a picnic lunch. I thought both date ideas were pretty unique, memorable, and very much in-line with my interests. Those tend to be the best kinds!

Dinner and a movie are always a date idea but I agree with 20/20 in that should you find that you have some of the same interest then that would open up a number of possibilities. Should you both like sports for example, a day at the ball park (GAB or a minor league club) could be fun. Also, with warmer weather approaching and Kings Island or another amusement park opening soon that could be an idea. Also, when warmer weather really gets here maybe a day at a water park or maybe jet sking should you both enjoy water sports.

Good Luck. :thumb:

You may have found your answer before asking! Going out drinking may not be a bad idea at all. That could lead to any number of possibilities. :D

My first date with the current girlfriend consisted of a trip to the local art museum, dinner, dessert and then a trip to a local point of geographical interest.

She seemed to enjoy it. :thumb:

Haha well first of all I'm not searching for any ideas. I just like to hear what other people come up with and maybe steal one along the way. As for your take on the whole drinking and what it could lead to, well let's just say if it was with the current ummm prospect, well nothing with drinking would lead to anything new. That's about all I'm going to say about that.

The next time I go on a date I will ask her if she "would like to accompany me to a local point of geographical interest." Just kidding around PepRock.

I will not ask anything else, I completely understand. Has been many, many years since those days but I have been there myself. :sssh::lol:

It sounded cooler than saying "The Falls of the Ohio." :D

Me and my wife go to sporting events for dates. Our first valentines day as a married couple was spent at the NBA All Star Weekend. Our first actual date was dinner and movie though.

A wine tasting can be fun! The Party Source has them from time to time as well as a few other locales in the Tri-State.

I guess my wife and I are a little weird. Usually, for us, a date would be a fishing or hunting excursion. If we really want to have a big time, we go to motorcycle rallys/shows, or tattoo conventions.

My husband and I had our first date at the Sweet 16 State tourney in Louisville.....39 years ago. I agree on finding out their interests and plan something around that.

This time of year was always good for bringing girls to softball games. I used to play in 2 different leagues, and it was a;ways good to bring them somewhere where you could show up 19 other grown men. Also, I used to have a friend that worked for the Corp of Engineers at the Greenup Dam. When he would owe me a favor, I would arrange to take girls there. My friend would let them operate the locks. That was a once in a lifetime deal for them, and always worked out great for me.:D Nowadays, dates for the wife and I consist of taking our kids to whatever they are involved in. I have to say, I like this just as well as any of the stuff I did 15 years ago.
