Is Chane related to the coach of the KY Players?

 

I heard from a certain someone earlier that he is, and that could be why the rumors were started, since he coaches several of the Holmes kids on the AAU scene.

 

Some "certain someones" sometimes overstate relationships.:lol:

I know that if he plays with the Holmes boys on the summer AAU circuit and he transfers to Holmes to formulate "Scott Co North" then I stick by my stance. I didnt agree with all the kids transferring to Scott Co who grew up playing AAU together (Flannery, Jackson, Euton) and an already dominant Holmes squad adding a 5 star prospect is just ridiculous. They would win every game by 20.

 

Chane doesn't play on the same team as the Holmes guys. I doubt he ever has. For one thing, he's a grade behind them.

I have heard that he doesn't play with them, but that his family member is the coach of the team that the Holmes guys play on. If indeed he does transfer, than all the whining from Holmes fans about Scott Co.'s transfers look kind of ridiculous.

Same thing I am hearing and as far as Behanon being a grade behind I dont think it matters. The kid si 6'7 and 225lbs and could play with guys 2 yrs above him if he wanted.

 

This is really disheartening to hear regardless if it becomes a legitimate move or not. I mean what other 9th Region team will have 3 legitimate D-1 caliber players and 2 other studs who could potentially play at D-2 schools on their roster? I cant remember any team in the last 30 yrs having this caliber of talent.

When a team is successful, many people want to become part of it. It's often a lot easier for a player to join a stacked team than help make their own team that good.

Aiken had a very solid young team this year that lost in the regional semis to eventual state runner up Princeton. There is a chance they will once again be looking for a new coach (3rd in 3 years) and that is what got the rumor mill swirling about him leaving...

This is very true. Its just the landscape of high school basketball. Kids want to go to good programs where they can better develop their talents. One thing that stuk out to me watching Holmes is they aren't only athletic, but pretty fundamentally sound as well.

The latter obviously. I mean come on, its already an uphill battle competing against athletic 6'5 and 6'7 kids that can dunk at will. Throw in a 5 star recruit and teams will be playing 2-3 zone night in and night out.

Developing individual talent doesn't always mean you have to play with the best team, however. Look at Hood.

That's a big "if" ... even so, Holmes wouldn't have as many as Scott County has, in terms of numbers, and from such far-flung locations.

Just to clear some things up, I know for a fact that Chane is no way releated to the Ky-Players coach. He doesn't play for the players also. This is the first I've heard of these rumors.

I VERY highly doubt Chane leaves his AAU program. While I have to be kinda guarded here, I am on the record saying it would do the Holmes kids well to change affiliation in their AAU choice for a long time...

I totally agree. A move would be in the best interest of each of the players.

Any further updates on the possibility of a transfer? I have gotten some text messages but nothing substantiated yet. Alot of buzz in the air though in Covington.
