Look I hate to see transfers in HS for athletic purposes. Lets face it.....it is part of the culture and Mexitucky is correct success breeds success. However in Northern Ky. I think people would be shocked at the amount of transfers (for whatever reason) are on rosters in all three major sports seasons. Sitting at my desk I can count without much thought 5 baseball players who start on Top 10 teams who transferred from one high school to another. Many in or right after their freshman season.

The rumor -- that the Aiken super sophomore and UC basketball recruit is transferring to the Kentucky state champion -- isn't true according to Aiken coach Leon Ellison.

 

"That's just a rumor," Ellison said by phone this afternoon. "Chane's sitting right here.

 

"... I don't pay any attention to any of that. You hear that type of thing all the time. People think they know where a kid should be playing. I've heard Princeton; I've heard Holmes."

 

Ellison, who also is a close family friend of Behanan, said the 6-7 forward will be playing at Aiken next year.

 

"As far as I know," he said. "And I would know."

Funny that Scott Co. wasn't measured by that yardstick.

 

Fair or unfair, as long as there is a Toyota plant in Georgetown there will skepticism when a good player transfers into Scott co. Additionally it is not very uncommon for kids to go to Newport one year Holmes the next and then somewhere in Cincinnati the next as kids families move. It is unfortunate for them yet nobody cares. They only care if the kid is a good player and it benefits the school as opposed to hurting the school community. I don't know the situation here. However I find Henley and Wimzie to be stand up guys and if this kid ends up there it will be legitimate
