April 4, 200917 yr I haven't forgotten about 1998 at all. That was the team that Pitino didn't believe in so he left UK assuming the ping pong balls would go his way and Tubby then won a national championship with players that Pitino would never have won with. I remember it all too well. It ranks right behind the Indiana loss at Rupp in 2002 as one of my all time Duke heartbreakers. The difference between 98' and 92' is that the 92' game is widely regarded as one of the best games ever in college basketball. The entire college basketball landscape remembers that game and is reminded of it every year in March, not to mention it was voted the Buffalo Wild Wings greatest college basketball moment of the last 30 years, and rightly so. Only Duke and UK fans remember the game in 98'.

The reason it ranks up there is because Duke was a double digit favorite and UK, with a bunch of KENTUCKY kids that stuck around, had them beat with 1.8 seconds left. It took a stomp to the chest (no technical) and a perfect shooting day by Laetner, who was a great COLLEGE player to win. I do agree, I remember watching the '98 game and thinking Pitino probably wouldn't have won that game, BUT Tubby did and that's all that matters. Hope to be playing the Devils soon again!!:thumb:
April 4, 200917 yr ......aaaaand we've lost the thread. We have, but at the same time we haven't. John Wall is the reason the Duke-UK rivalry is being brought back to light. Hopefully John John will do the right thing and sign with Duke. Does anyone have any John Wall news for today? It is a new day. The rumor on Devils Illustrated is that he may be leaning towards staying somewhere close to home and now that it appears UNC may be in the mix, who knows what is going to happen. They also seem to believe that his handlers aren't the mentors they were once thought to be. So intriguing..... I am looking forward to watching him in a non highlight reel in the Jordan Brand All Star game.
April 4, 200917 yr Does anyone have the picture of the Duke players crying in the UK locker room after being beaten by someone in a regional game a few years back???

Does anyone have a picture of the UK players crying in the locker room this year when they lost to Georgia and realized they weren't going to the tourney this year? Do we have to do this? Seriously? Can we get back to the thread before they close it????

If anyone has the pic that I requested, please send it in a PM. If Wall visits UK then I believe he will be a Cat. "You can take a boy into this colesium, sit him down for 5 minutes, and if he doesn't want to play at Kentucky after just looking at the place, then he is too dumb to go to college anyway."......Adolph Rupp.
April 4, 200917 yr I do honestly think that if Wall visits UK, he will commit to UK. It says a lot when UK wasn't on his list before Cal, and now UK is a major player in his services after Cal.

Now back to our regularly scheduled thread.
April 4, 200917 yr Does anyone know any latest news on Wall? Just wondering if he's starting to decide or not.
