March 26, 200917 yr I equate UK basketball fans with Alabama football fans. Greatest fans in the world when the team is winning, most impatient and critical fans when the team is losing. In other words, I don't have a whole lot of respect for either fan base. Just my opinion.

Leading the nation in attendance every year, dominating the SEC tournament crowd every year, having a partial home game on the road in the quarter finals of the NIT, etc.. etc.. etc. Gotta respect that a little bit.

March 26, 200917 yr PROS - Fanatical love for the Cats. Will follow the Cats anywhere. Supported the football team when they were really bad. CONS - Unrealistic expectations. Can go from hot to cold on a UK player, coach, team, etc faster than the weather can do the same in Kentucky (and lately, that is pretty darned fast). Or in other words, we can move someone from hero to zero (or vice versa) in 3.4 seconds flat.

March 26, 200917 yr PROS - Monetary support, Fantastic alumni support, knowledgable of the program's history, Fan attendance CONS - Unrealistic expectations. And UK fans live in the past waaaay too much, comparing current coaches, players, and systems to coaches and teams past, which leads to the unrealistic expectations.
March 26, 200917 yr Pro ... fantastic and fanatical support, when things are going well. Cons ... gosh, where do we start? Completely unreasonable expectations ... an inflated sense of the program's place and importance on the national scene, part of which comes from living too much in the past ... and fans that can turn on players and coaches in barely longer than an instant.
