I think Elliott is going to have to shoot the ball well to win tomorrow they will also have to limit the turnovers. Go Elliott!!

I just can't see EC being able to bounce back in a little over 12 hours with only playing five players (ok maybe six) and having to work as hard as they did in their two games to get this far. EC lives and dies on their outside shots and as everyone knows a shooter is only as good, as his legs are fresh and I truly can't see the legs being fresh for this game! Everyone in the Ninth can tell Elliott, that the only way to beat Holmes is to slow down the tempo and be patient, but will EC listen and play smart or will they try to run with a fresh Holmes team?

My thoughts exactly. I'll take the Doggies by a bunch, say a bunch of bananas, aren't there usually about 9 to the bunch? Holmes 71 EC 62. If it is not close, it will be a nice day for the men from Covington. I can only see EC pulling an upset by the narrowest of margins at the buzzer.

That is a huge concern that I have for Elliott County. I know the young men will give it their all, and I certainly hope it is enough.

If Elliott keeps it close until the last three minutes, I think Holmes may ask themselves whats going on? Theres nothing more frustrating then not being able to put someone away that you should beat. Yes, holmes should be Elliott. If it comes down to free throws at the end I believe that Elliott will win. Rupp Arena will embrace Elliott County in the morning.

I see a lot of stuff claiming that Elliott County can't beat Holmes if they run with them. That may be true. But, Elliott County averages 86 ppg...they are a running team. I guarantee they can't beat Holmes in a slow down game.

Elliott's chance, IMO, is to play their tempo. Fast. They have to shoot well. And, IMO, they need to build a lead and play from ahead because I do think fatigue will be a factor as this game progresses and that will benefit Holmes.

My guess is Holmes is just too much for the Lions. EC may play with them for a while, but at some point, I expect Holmes to take control of this game and pull away as EC wears down.

I'll take Holmes...big...

What time does this game start?

I would like to put to rest that the Bulldogs can't score. All I heard was The bulldogs better score or they will lose down state. The ninth region flat out slowed the ball down. Sweet 16 proves it!!! :D:D:D

Funny how there is exactly zero talk about the first game of the day between West Jessamine and Louisville Central.

Does anybody think either WJ or LC could beat either Holmes or Elliott?

Could they? Yes. But any team can beat another. I just dont see Holmes being denied in this tourny.

Nope - Both are superior teams, although Eastern was supposed to blow out Central in the QF game

You know, for the whole season this site has focused a lot on Elliott Count and Holmes. I think this might shape up to be the game of the year. There has been a lot of "poking," by both Elliott and Holmes fans. I guess in the morning we will settle this little dispute once and for all. It should be a great one; IMO tomorrow we are going to see the best two teams in the state play. It will be a battle. Holmes has the talent and athleticism. Elliott has the heart and the never die attitude. Best game of the year, (IMO) no matter which way it goes. With that said, I am proud of my Elliott Co. boys, and proud to say WE ARE ELLIOTT

Why of course, but the Ninth Region Coaches knew to slow the pace down, as they understood that was the only way to beat Holmes! Really smart move by them and there is nothing wrong, with doing that at all....

The reason why most of us were worried about Holmes not scoring was to look at the shooting percentages from outside. At no time in the Ninth Region games was Holmes hitting the treys like they did tonight/yesterday and if they had done that in those games, no one could have slowed them down in the Ninth Region games.

BTW you have to understand that when the different Ninth Region teams plays Holmes they and their fans what to beat them, but now, I highly doubt if you could find anyone not rooting for Holmes from the Ninth....

Go Dawgs.....
