I'm pretty confident she will have to sit out a year unless the family makes a physical move. IMO...both parties at Ryle need to sit down and spend quality time clearing this matter up and get it behind them.

Not sure the KHSAA is in a strong position if she files a law suit. Whatever Ms. Moss does I hope I have the chance to watch her in 2009. Above all else she is a really nice, young and talented sweet girl.

Ms. Moss was seen quite a bit with Boone County folk during the latter part of the season... Maybe move in with Coach Fookes?:lol:

Sydney played with Bradley, Sanfoss and Jackson over the summer. I wouldn't put too much stock in who she hangs with. They traveled from Los Angles to North Carolina as a tight knit group.

That would be the best solution for her to play without moving but I'm not sure it's even a possibility at this point. We'll see. Wish it could happen.

Good post. I have heard about the possibility of several schools in the 8th adding some transfers.......but until they get there let's go with what we have.

Devine would be on the list as well as Hill from Gallatin Co. and Sandlin from WV.

 

Tori Wilhoit should be added as one of the best rebounders.

 

All EXCELLENT players, but I stand by my picks as tops in their categories - at least, until I change my mind!!!

It's WIDE OPEN, repeat WIDE OPEN! More so than any recent season, 2009-10 will be very, very comepetitive and unpredictable, which translates into being interesting, intriguing and filled with surprises! So many twists and turns might occur between now and the start of the season and region tourney, to predict anything with accuracy, it might be more a matter of luck and skill. Many of these teams have abundance of YOUNG talent, so the competitive picture for the 8th is looking promising for several years.

 

Having said that, here are some observations that appear in no particular order:

 

a) Oldham Co. will be THE most veteran team in the region, having a solid crew of at least four seniors returning, plus the learning curve will be much less since they now know coach Just's system;

b) Anderson Co. has a vast amount of extremely young and exceptional talent, some of which will not even be attending high school yet;

c) Simon Kenton has THE most successful and experienced backcourt in the region, and they know what it takes to get to Diddle - they've been there twice already;

d) South Oldham has a deep supply of sophomores and a pair of seniors who saw extensive varsity action, and since they made an impressive and surprising late run this year, what could be in store for the next ...;

e) Owen Co. has the size, tenacity, talent and attitiude to, despite being a smaller school, bang, battle and possibly prevail over the biggies - definitely a team to respect and not take lightly, plus they still are also very young;

f) Carroll Co. annually has an impressive record, is well coached and this year will return many players who seem determined and disciplined to go deep in the region;

g) Walton-Verona was a force this past season by district tourney time; not as veteran as Oldham Co., is another team who returns many talented and fundamem]ntally sound young players who have time to adjust to coach Miller, an extremely capable young coach;

h) Gallatin Co. will graduate a few players but has a fine player in the middle to build around, plus several capable shooters

i) Shelby Co. is tradition-rich program that will be determined to get back to the 8th region tourney in 2009-10, despite having to adjust to whoever will fill the head coaching position vacated by coach Zimmerman (who had a wonderful tenure at SC)

 

If any teams other than these nine break into the 8th post-season bash at Simon Kenton next March, that will mean that there is even more parity amongst the teams. The 2009-10 season should certainly be a great one to be a girls' basketball fan in the 8th!

Nice post retro. I agree Miller has done an outstanding job at WV. There will def. be parity in the 8th. I hope all these teams are able to play each other in the regular season...
