And, as a member of the US Senate, Bunning's a Major League Baseball Hall of Famer.

In all seriousness, I'd be curious to hear from some GOPers as to their opinion on Bunning. He certainly doesn't seem to be helping his party in a time when the party is reeling, and sorely lacking in unity.

 

Surely there are some NoKy GOPers who have given up on their boy?

No way Bunning wins a battle with McConnell. He needs to seriously think about hanging it up. For someone who was out front of everyone on the single biggest challenge currently facing the USA, he has no political capital to carry him and he can only hurt the party.

I completely lost any shred of respect I had for him when I heard and read his comments about Ruth Ginsberg. I can respect his aversion to her as a Judge. But his comments were completely and utterly insensitive and callous.

Sometimes I sit next to him in Church on Sunday . Never stays to talk after Mass Always hurries out , his wife stays and usuall talks to her relatives . I like him as a Baseball Hall of Famer but as a politican No .

No chance of him winning another term. Probably won't win the primary.

 

I agree with RM. His statement about Justice Ginsberg was very insensitive.

Because he's hard-headed and mean-spirited. Good qualities to have if you're a MLB pitcher, but not necessarily if you're an aging, increasingly irrelevant Senator.

Plain and simple............He's an old "poop".

I have voted for Bunning evey time he has run for office, but there comes a time for everyone to retire and this is his time. He is not the only one in Congress that should realize it is time to step down. Once there, I guess it might be difficult to step away from such a position.

 

Who are some others that have been there for long periods and it is now their time to go?
