Congrats to Elliott County, you are truly by far the best team in the 16th region. The one thing I wanted to say is it was a very classless act by the PA announcer at the beginning of the game to announce Elliott County would be playing the winners of the 61st district Bath County. How in the world could you be qualified to announce a game and not know who was playing. This was totally disrespectful to the players and the fans of Lewis County.

 

Im sure it was a mistake, but I was shocked by this also. I would be upset if I were a Lewis supporter also. Morehead ran a great tournament, but that was an inexcusable error on his part.

I agree that he is good, but hopefully he learns from this that he needs to be prepared when he starts. Sometimes talent makes us forget about the details.

If you were from Lewis County you wouldn't love him anymore. I'm sure it was a mistake but how do you make a mistake like that in a regional championship. Here we are getting ready to enjoy our first ever championship game and this clown announces us as Bath County, and he didn't even get the district right we were the 63rd District Champions.

It's comments like this that make people outside of Mason root against you. Why would you care if they have a parade or not. They might have had a parade when they beat Mason County by about 15 earlier this year.:clap:

We are so proud of these boys. They have come so far since losing their first seven games of the year. I wish Chris Thompson had another year with us it has been such a pleasure watching him play this year. With this run in the post season I would have to think Joe Hampton would be a lock for coach of the year.

 

I would hope a 21-0 record against 16th region teams, would make Coach Mays the front runner for the coach of the year. No disrespect to Coach Hampton(he evidently did an excellent job this year), but I'm just saying, an unbeaten record against any other team in the region, would seem to say something.

I believe the announcer made a couple of "fumbles" before he got things straight!! I think there were as many upset people on the Elliott side over it as there were from Lewis County. I would have expected better on the Championship game.

 

I kept watching Lewis tonight to see if that young man (sorry . . . I don't know his name) would pull out another half court + bomber (really I had hoped he would have because it was SO GREAT last night). Congrats Lewis . . . you ended your season making history for your team and county!! :ylsuper:
