March 9, 200917 yr That is the comparrison to the playoffs I am talking about. The players show so much national pride it is fun to watch. The pitching is rusty and the hitting isn't as good as mid-season form, but still great to watch. :thumb: I 100% agree that watching this is fun and exciting. I loved watching the US pound the Venezualan bullpen into submission. Dunn and Ianetta were monsters tonight.

March 9, 200917 yr I enjoy watching it cause its kind of like the all star game and the playoffs combined together in the preseason!
March 9, 200917 yr Chipper Jones strained his oblique muscle. We all know how long it could take an oblique to heal. I have a feeling that if the injuries start to pile up that the WBC could have a very short lifespan.
March 9, 200917 yr I wish Dunn would have hustled like he is when he was with the Reds. Did you see him take out (slide right into) the SS to break up a double play in the USA's first game? I never once saw him do that in a Reds uniform. I am all about playing hard for your country, but I think if you can do it now, you should have done it then. I guarantee he will go back to lazy ball as soon as he starts with the Nationals.
March 9, 200917 yr Who won and the final score of USA-Venz? I didn't get to see the end of it. Pretty sure it was 15-6; if you haven't already seen the score/highlights.
March 9, 200917 yr I caught a few innings for Korea and Japan this morning. That was a great game. It was 1-0 in the 7th inning when I left for work.
March 9, 200917 yr Looks like the game ended 1-0 in favor of Korea: http://sports.espn.go.com/extra/baseball/wbbc/recap?gameId=290309107&league=wbbc

March 10, 200917 yr Just as the sun rises, Chipper Jones gets injured. Can't pin it on the WBC alone. Absolutely not. Thats why I said if injuries like this pile up, THEN it might be in trouble.
March 11, 200917 yr I picked the Dominican Republic to win this outright, but the Netherlands proved a lot of us wrong. DR had 22 MLB players, the Netherlands had 2. Combined salary for the DR was over 83 million, the Netherlands, $400,000. WOW!
March 11, 200917 yr Ted Lilly:rolleyes: is pitching tonight vs Venezuela USA will have to battle back from behind I promise.
