If it's on a Saturday, some of us non-T/X fans might show up!

You don't have to be a fan of either team to enjoy this game.. I've been to several and it is truly an event.

We play Saturday night, we're the only game in town. That's great!!!! How many people will come to THE BIG GAME that otherwise wouldn't have come had it been on Friday. Could be a record crowd!!!

 

 

This is truly no big deal as far as I'm concerned. The out of town X and T fans still have time to adjust their travel plans, it's not as if it came up the week of the game.

 

No offense intended but the people that are upset are just looking for things to be upset about IMVHO.

Now that I've given this some thought, we could move to Old Cardinal Stadium, bring in some bleachers for the outfield, go head to head with U of L and outdraw them. They'll be 1 and 2 heading into the Pitt game and ESPN2 can discuss what is happening a mile away!

 

Sunday night may be viable. Sunday afternoon would hurt the CSAA.

 

Saturday 10/3-UK/'BAMA at Lexington, game time TBA - we could go up against those teams, but....

 

I understand the school's are to announce their plans next week.

Playing on Saturday night will end up being a better deal for the kids the fans and the travelers from out of town. Huge for pregame events. Adds one more day of prep for the kids and coaches as well. I like the idea and remember playing all of our home games back in the 80's on Saturday night due to Bacon's shopping center being closed gave for extra parking, we always had a good crowd.

I really could care less that it's being moves to Saturday, and actually feel that it will boost attendance...I would venture it may be moved to Saturday's permantly after this game.

 

You're not thinking this through completely as this is a bad precedent. In the future,the date of this titanic struggle is subject to change from now on based on the whims of ESPN.

 

I don't see UC having to move their Skyline Crosstown games or Pittsburgh forcing the Heinz people to move their state title games. Also, isn't it ironic that U of L has no game on the "biggest weekend" of the year for the Big East. December was left wide open on the U of L schedule.

 

It has not been confirmed that Saturday is available for now. Nothing "permanent" may ever come from this.

 

As far as playing it home and home, you feel that 10,000 tickets at $24.50 a head works well in place of 35,000 at $7.00? I'm sure the parents would to see their students cough that money up. The two schools do depend on this income to take care of many athletic expenses during the year.

BTW, Pitt and UC play on December 5th on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2. The Bearcats are on national TV 5 times! Maybe U of L should have insisted on Memphis, not UC when it came time to join the Big East.

 

I'm confident Mr. Lampley and Mr. Donhoff will do what is best for programs. It could be that Thursday may be a more viable option.

ESPN rules the roost with the money they put out but does anyone really want them to stop doing what they do? I personally think that it's stupid to have college football on Friday nights but someone must be watching.

I like the Sat. night concept as well. Maybe not an every year thing --but this once may work.

I'm in for a Saturday X/T game. Of course I am in no matter what day they play it. :lol::lol:

 

There last game is Nov. 28th according to schedule. I think they moved football playoffs to another location for another reason. Money talks and crap walks. If I had to guess more sponsor money and less expenses moving it to BG. Feel free to let me know I am wrong.
