So I understand CovCath is practicing at 6am before school. Does ayone know if that is practice or just conditioning and weights? Wonder why so early!!!

The teams that have their boy's basketball make the State Tournament will have the luxury of practicing some, or all AFTER Spring Break as their "clocks" won't start until March 23rd. With Spring Break, here in Jeff. Co. from March 30/April 3, teams could still get in their ten days AFTER Spring Break.

That happened to us at Manual in 2000 when the girls BB went to the Sweet 16. A BIG advantage weatherwise practicing the 2nd and 3rd weeks of April instead of the 2nd and 3rd weeks of March.

Maybe they should look into "messing" with springball considering Trinity's recent success during the playoff's.:scared:

Well T doesn't mess with it either.

By the way, X and T say they just work out in the weightroom during this time, haven't they been doing this all off-season already?

Conditioning.

They were going to start Spring ball on Monday but held off. I'd expect them to start sometime this week.

Cov Cath is starting Wednesday this week

I feel for the teams that have to start so early. They may get 5 decent days out of the 10 weather wise. It would be so simple to have everyone start the same day, when the weather is warmer.

And add a Spring Game against another school on the final day, that would make Spring Football a great event.

I like the way you think, Ram!:thumb:

I can't take all the credit for it, Florida has Spring football, and has multiple teams at one location for inter-school scrimmages, they also coordinate it with a Referee conference or something, but the refs get experience by reffing the spring scrimmages.

Sounds like a great idea for Kentucky, have several schools at one location for a grid of some kind to conclude the spring practice period. Good for football, good for the state, good for the officials, good for the fans. I like it.

The rule is not reasonable...This could be done in April or May with much more favorable weather. KHSAA should change this, but when do they ever do what makes the most sense?

:deadhorse:

Let's keep Rule 9 in mind here:

9. No discussion of ANY criminal behavior (charged or uncharged) in the high school forums. Discussion of adult criminal behavior is permitted in all non-high school forums. However, discussion of criminal behavior by juveniles (anyone under 18) is never permitted anywhere on BGP.

Trinity does not put on pads or go out as a team. They do conditioning in the weightroom and Marshall Center.

Which is how it should be done.

Good for everyone except Basketball. Can't do anything to upset those folks.
