Ashland 64 Rose Hill 60

Wouldn't KHSAA rules rule a player inelegible for a year? I thought that was the rule.

This player I was speaking of was ruled ineligible this year, but can play next year if he so chooses.

Old Shooter, I have a question for you since you predicted this would happen a couple of days ago. You also seem to have alot of knowledge of the way things are in our neck of the woods.

Were YOU surprised by the Degree of differences in how the game was called for the teams and the number of foul shots.

In the earlier thread, I asked who would be officiating the game because I was afraid that Kouns would be one of them. Now everyone knows why I was concerned. When one team presses the entire game and gets almost four times (37-10) as many foul shots as the other team that never pressed, I believe we could submit the tape of the game to Ripley's Believe It or Not.

However, although I knew Ashland would shoot far more foul shots and win at the foul line and that Ashland would commit few fouls, I had no idea that the outcome would be as one-sided as it was tonight.

As well as the fouls, I am also appalled that Ashland committed only 5 turnovers for the entire game. I am also concerned, but certainly not surprised, that Bonner was only called for one late foul. I was there sitting on the third row near the basket and anyone who thinks Bonner doesn't foul is less than honest.

Clyde is absolutely correct. The referees normally leave the floor immediately. Of course, they may have hung around to be presented the game ball.

By the way, did any of the referees approach Coach Bush to shake his hand (no hug expected)? You know the answer as well as do I.

As I said earlier, after they have time to digest what happened to them, this game should be all the motivation that RH's boys need for the next three or so years.

You hit the nail on the head, old shooter!!! :thumb:

I thought this was a well officiated game.

Seems the integrity, honesty, fair play and sportsmanship of the 16th is lacking at least by several officials. East/Elliot, Greenup/Russell & Ashland/Rosehill. How can we ask our young athletes to act with these basic attributes and as representatives of KHSAA as a whole you are lacking them yourself. Seems like if you don't have the talent it resorts to 8 on 5 to win for certain programs not all referees of the 16th resort to these tactics but seem to be intimidated or to insecure to do anything about it. How can the powers that be look their self in the mirror. One more dig of the spur- How did any of them earn the right to go to Rupp or Diddle, other than the reason everyone gets a chance they need to earn it by their actions :deadhorse:

I thought this was a well officiated game.

:ohbrother:You would it was to your liking

As did I, some teams just foul more than others, Congrats to both teams on a a hard fought game.( Basketball fan no ties to either team)

NOT a well officiated game!!!!! :irked: It was a hard fought game on Rose Hill's part. This whole thing makes me sick!!!!! :puke:

Brilliant analysis from one who didn't attend the game. Surely, he is merely trying to stoke the fire.

Strange that we still have not gotten any rebuttals from Blazer Blvd.of my factual claims. But, then, what can they say? They should be embarrassed but, of course, they'd take this win any way they could get it.

So you honestly believe that Ashland only committed 11 fouls in the entire game, Terry was never touched when he was slashing to the basket late in the game, Bonner had possession when he was awarded the timeout, or that Whetsel didn't walk on his three point play late in the 4th with Ashland down 2? All of these were critical plays down the stretch that all went Ashland's way.

I agree that some teams foul more than others but really

I thought this was a well officiated game.

Well, of course you did. Would you care to give us some factual information about the game upon which you base your conclusion? In over 100 posts, there hasn't bveen a serious one with your viewpoint yet.

Silence may be golden. However, it often, as in this fiasco, speaks volumes.

Foul trouble brother, foul trouble. Kennedy was saddled with fould trouble early in each half. Bush #10 was in foul trouble fairly early, Gregg had 1st half foul trouble. With that said I think Gambill played a ton of miniutes as did Terry.

Fortunately for Ashland Bonner didn't pick up a foul until midway through the 4th quarter.

Gregg had one foul in the first half

Gregg had one foul in the first half

My bad but he did play 29 miniutes.

I wasn't there, it sounds as if not many are happy. I just wanted to congratulate Ashland on the victory and Rose Hill on a fine season.

I believe that you could be wrong on some things, and I don't believe you are an Ashland fan offended for RH's sake.:ohbrother:
