Ashland 64 Rose Hill 60

I don't know who made the call but I talked to a Fleming County assistant and he was the first one to tell me about the ref switch.

Good one I don't think it was last minute shooter had on here Monday that who the refs were.

I think part of the problem with the switching of officials came as a result of the 61st District changing their tournament. They had originally scheduled the boys championship game for SATURDAY night, which can't be done because the regional draw is Saturday MORNING! So some officials had to be reassigned to accommodate the change.

I think that the key was that RH was not able to get a stop when they pushed the lead to 5 on several occasions. Scott Gambill and Mike Terry played really well for RH. Terry is going to be an absolute monster in a year or two.

Congrats to Asland and good luck in the finals. Delaney played a heck of the ball game for the Tomcats.

Did Coach Frasure coach?

Yes he coached, and I didn't hear that he was fired prior to the game until after it was over. I'm not 100% about the firing, that's just what I heard. Fleming County played well tonight too, and if the firing is true I wonder how it would of went if they would of beat Bath County tonight.

Curious that he still coached? But I did hear the same thing you have heard through the media grapevine.

The time out for Ashland on a loose ball in the 4th when clearly nobody had control of the ball was critical.

That being said, Rose hill clearly benefited from two non-calls when Bush slid about three feet on his back with the ball and when Bush was lying out of bounds with his hands on a loose ball.

Bonner clearly walked on one possession but went on in to score.

There were missed calls on both sides but the foul differential is troublesome.

The key has already been stated. It was the individuals in striped shirts. I hope these grown men feel good about messing over a good bunch of kids.

Thats why I said I felt they should have went to a zone Ashland was scoring every time down either driving to basket and getting fouled or Bonner down inside.

Grant it, Royal Uncle the refs were bad especially one but I think if the Hill would have made that coaching move it would not have been so easy to call all of those fouls and Rose Hill could have still won the game in spite of the refs. JMO

I'm still waiting for a rebuttal of my facts from the "victors".

All in all, since all but two of RH's players return next year and most for two or three more years, this game should be the only motivation they will need for the future when they play the decidedly less talented Ashland. Now, that's certainly a bit of silver lining to the cloud dumped on them tonight.

I am one of the biggest RH fans you will ever meet and have blamed the officials for their loses before. And they did have an impact on the game tonight but there are other things that helped determine the outcome as well. And despite all the fouls that were being called RH had the lead in the fourth quater and couldn't get the defensive stop they needed. I think that had more of an impact that officials.

Defensive stops are difficult when the other team is living on the foul line. Don't take my word for it, Check it out. Ashland shot 22 foul shots in the second half. That is 1.375 per minute.

Congrats to Coach Biggs and the hard-working Tomcats. Good luck against the Eagles. And good luck to the Kittens tomorrow night in the championship.

I agree that a stop would have been huge for the Hill but I really felt like the officials wouldn't let them block shots. The third foul on Kennedy was awful and it resulted in two Tomcat points rather that a clean block.

I think officials are blamed too much but it is easy to understand why Rose Hill supporters are upset. 37 to 10 on free throws and 24 to 11 in total fouls, difficult to overcome. Like I said in my origional post I have never seen that big a difference in my entire life and that's quite sometime.

That means Ashland shot 15 in the first half which is just about 1 a miniute. I guess when you think about it 37 ft's in 32 miniutes is more than one a miniute.
