All I can say is wow! I have never seen a game with such a wide margin in fouls and free throw shooting. I got a copy of the official Ashland stat sheet and Rose Hill shot a higher percentage from both 2 point range and 3 point range. Out rebounded Ashland 28 - 22, had 4 more offensive rebounds and hit 4 more threes.

 

I always cheer for Ashland but I have to say that I have never witnessed anything like this. I'm not sure I really believe what I witnessed.

Foul trouble brother, foul trouble. Kennedy was saddled with fould trouble early in each half. Bush #10 was in foul trouble fairly early, Gregg had 1st half foul trouble. With that said I think Gambill played a ton of miniutes as did Terry.

 

Fortunately for Ashland Bonner didn't pick up a foul until midway through the 4th quarter.

You are a basketball guy. A couple of questions if you don't feel comfortable in answering then I guess they could be observations. Why did Rose Hill not go to a zone in either time they were up by 5. For two reasons 1)fouls 2) could not guard the dribbler or guard Bonner down inside especially the way he was being allowed to post. Just my view of the 2nd half. Also as shooter said Rose Hill did not press. Why I have seen Ashland a few times and their ball handling is suspect that is why they only had 5 turnovers.

Shooter I didn't believe your previous thread UNTIL I watched the game tonight. If I'm the head of officials I'm watching this game tape and asking some serious questions. I've never seen a referee so blatantly bias while calling a game. I'd suggest from now on he just travel with the Ashland team to all their games to help save gas.

 

The incredible part of this game is that RH had an opportunity to win DESPITE the HUGE discrepancy in foul shots. I'd say Ashland is happy to win this game because their future doesn't look bright the next few years against Fairview or RH.

I heard the foul shots were something like 34 -10 in favor of Ashland, can anyone confirm this?

The official that "old" shooter was talking about in his post was supposed to call the Bath-Fleming game tonight but got switched with Joe Billman in the last second. That's what I was told by both Bath Co. and Fleming Co. coaches. They were both shocked not to see the ref that "old" shooter mentioned before.

Result: out of bounds to Ashland.

The one foul call mentioned above on Ashland was called when it had no bearing on the play. Kennedy scored but because the foul was called prior to the shot had to go to the line and missed. So that one foul was actually a good call for Ashland.
